KACU! is a new name in Czech music scene. It is not easy to classify their music, however this music evokes wide scale of emotions from disturbance to ecstasy. When it comes to lyrical inspirations, there are original pieces as well as texts from international authors (R.M.Rilke, R.Thakur, J.Vrchlicky, W. Szymborska...) The title KACU! itself come from Zen buddhism and according to Vlastimil Marek in his book Tajne dejiny hudby (Secret history of music):" Kacu ! is word which Zen monks are screaming when on the verge of pain and exhaustion or if the moment of resolving the puzzle of life arise". Eva Gina, the singer, cello and morin chur (mongolian string instrument) player, is the prominent musician of the trio. She has a “femme fatal “potentials for composing music. She is a women of many faces and her artistic expression leaves all the contemporaries of alternative music behind.(Z.Neusar) The rest of the trio are outstanding musicians in their own rights. KACU! has been busy with performing over a year now, however the significant impact is made in October 2009 by their debut album " Story of Women and Men, a Slug and an Onion". This album is recorded with Black Point music. There is a positive response from TV and Radio medias. Radio Cesky rozhlas (Czech Broadcast) and Radio Proglas are already playing their music. As well as being scheduled for January 2010 to perform live shows in Radio Cesky rozhlas Olomouc and Radio Proglas. In addition, Czech television invited KACU! to make an appearance in spring 2010 series Kultura.cz KACU! music will be reaching British audience on 7th of February 2010 ( more info on http:// old.radio.cz/en/html/magic_carpet.html) And for march/april 2010 KACU! is scheduled to perform in prestige program called Cajovna (Tea room) in Radio Vltava, led by internationally renowned music critic Petr Doruzka. There is a peak to some Reviews: In Z.Neusar’s (www.freemusic.cz)opinion: “Eva Gina’s voice is strong and flexible and her composition skills are coming right from the metaphysical feminine being. She is a woman of many faces and her artistic voice leaves all the contemporaries of alternative music behind. Don’t give up on love is that is all about……..” The statement of R. Hrebecky ( Rock &Pop magazine?) says: “If we could not find the right expression for quirkiness (quaintly), they define it.” According to Z. Hanko (www.nascene.cz): “Although KACU! with their debut have stepped into the unknown territory, they’ve done it with unique style and confidence. “ M.Flasar (www.jazzdnes.cz) said: “This music will not allow you to have a nap; on the contrary, it brings out the hidden passions, which sleeps inside you. J. Pochyly notes: “It is not possible to pin down this music into a genre box, the only box for it is ” damn good music” box. “ And here is a peak to amusing contradictions of one of the reviews: ?Originality against modification ? ***"Their music is fresh, theatrical, ecstatic, innocent and in the same time naked as a courtesan , but most of all original."
