i'm originally from chicago though i am now very proud to call the bronx my home. i'm a freelance musician specializing in irish/celtic music on the wooden flute, uilleann pipes, and whistles. i also play a little bit of saxophone, am learning the tenor banjo and fiddle, and i am also a reasonably capable beatboxer. i've dabbled a bit in electronic music production, on a project called Janitor with Cara Frankowicz, and have also produced a few collaborations with friends of mine. I've played most extensively with guitarist James Riley (check out his myspace and new album!), also with the Eileen Ivers band, Jameson's Revenge, Sam Amidon, Dave Barckow and his various bands, and in recording sessions and bar gigs with lots of other folks. Recent recording credits include tracks on albums by trumpeter Mark Tipton, singer Allison Barber, James Riley's solo debut, music for an episode of The Backyardigans on Nick Jr. (woohoo for kids' TV!), and a track for the Wooden Flute Obsession Vol. 3 compilation. Currently I'm working on a project called Moakland, a band that plays original instrumental music. We are slowly but surely working on our first recording. Check us out on myspace or at www.moaklandmusic.com. Also one of these days I'll finish my solo album.
below is a clip from a regular gig i hold down most thursday nights during the "academic season" at the malthouse in yonkers. you can't see me cuz the light is so dim, but I'm playing flute, James Riley is on guitar, Sam Amidon (visible) and Keith O'Neill on fiddles.

well, it has been a long and winding road, and an even longer time coming, but my debut CD, I Remember, is FINALLY HERE!!! YAY!!!!!
to celebrate, American HeartBeat Records(tm) has arranged a FREE DOWNLOAD of Now Is The Time in exchange for a valid email address. Now Is The Time is a brand new, upbeat song I wrote: we are living in turbulent times. suddenly it is okay to be greedy and heartless? no way! a song of hope for our future, a new vision of America and the world.
we have a bunch of exciting things planned to kick this whole thing off, and we need to get a better picture of who our friends are, so the FREE DOWNLOAD form will ask you a few questions, like, what is your country and nearest major city. it all takes maybe 15 seconds.
Hey love. I thought I sent you a comment the other day saying hello and seeing how you were but I think it got lost somewhere on the internet universe? Either way, how have you been doing?
I'm doing pretty good, thanks. Just got myself a 2nd job so I can pay my bills and all that good stuff. And I am almost done X-mas shopping already, that's a first! Been dating a guy in MN, so that is another first...first long-distance relationship. Overall life is pretty good! I see your old band is coming to town in January...wish you were too. Miss you! Stay warm over there in NY :)
