General
Pretty much anything and everything. Oh, except math, I'm really not that interested in math. But everything else is fair game.
Music
I like music that doesn't suck. Mostly stuff like:
PEARL JAM, Uncle Tupelo (and of course Wilco and Son Volt), Rilo Kiley, The Decemberists, Mew, Bat for Lashes, Band of Horses, Patty Griffin, Mike Doughty, Jeff Buckley, Interpol, Flaming Lips, Elvis Costello, Griffin House etc.
MOST "Alt" rock that came out of Seattle in the early and mid-90's, Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden, and so forth.
Most "Alt" rock that came out of everywhere in the mid-90's -- yes, I am stuck there.
Most 80's new wave. The Rave-Ups, Blondie, The Clash, The Cure, and so forth.
A LOT of classic rock, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, CCR, Carole King, and so forth.
I don't feel the need to continue to list bands that I think will make you think I am cool.
Movies
Casablanca, His Girl Friday, Sunset Boulevard
Anything Cameron Crowe is even remotely involved in.
Brat Pack movies.
Anything with Will Ferrell, Chris Farley, or Mike Myers.
All of those uber-important, film school snob type movies (yep, I'm a "film" school snob) like Requiem, Memento, Run Lola Run, you know, anything Dr. Daly showed in class...and then some...
Oh yah, and Empire Records...classic...
Television
Eureka, 24, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Arrested Development, The Office (American and BBC -- BBC is my fave though), Heroes, The X-Files, Smallville, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (anything Joss Whedon does though), Nip/Tuck, Real Time With Bill Maher, Weeds, The Sopranos, The Gilmore Girls, The West Wing, Ugly Betty, Veronica Mars, Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, House, Alias, Chuck, Reaper...yeah, I watch too much TV...
Books
The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test, Redemption Song: The Ballad of Joe Strummer, On The Road, A Clockwork Orange, I am America (And so Can You), Graphic novels (Y: The Last Man, The Authority, anything by Joss Whedon, Invincible, Hellboy...) Catcher in the Rye, and The Chronicles of Narnia (all 7), anything by Dean Koontz or Michael Connelly, The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, Anything by Jennifer Weiner, the Dan Brown foursome -- of which Digital Fortress if my fave, Hunter S. Thompson, Michael Moore, Burroughs (William S.), Kesey, Tom Wolfe, Meg Cabot, John Sandford, Thoreau, Jane Austen...I have stacks and stacks of books I have started and need to finish...I need more TIME!!!!!!!
Heroes
Kerouac, Hunter S. Thompson, Dorothy Parker, My Mom, Anyone who is strong enough to stand up for what they believe in.

Glad to hear that LA is nice. Too bad you don't have a longer time to stay and possibly seek out your long-time dream of making it in the BIZ!
:) Take care of yourself and make it home okay...
