About me:
The name Kill
the Silence. just means its a loud rockin' roll
show. no quiet time. lol. We have a cool story of how we came together.
Eli and I met when My (Rick) little bro. Heath married Eli's sister.
Eli was about 12. I gave him guitar lessons. We play off and on. About
5 years later Heath, Eli and I formed a band called Madhouse. we played
together for about 5 years. We went our separate ways for a while. My
bro. died in a accident. It brought us back together. With music we
filled the emptiness. We formed a band called 3 hours of darkness.
Which was a band I rick was the guitarist and vocalist for at the Time
my brother died. Eli came to a show then a practise. Once he got the
mic in his hands it was on. We lost our drummer and bassist after about
2 years with 3 hours. We started playing parties and small clubs just
us and two accoustics. Thats how we met Chance. He came to one of the
parties. He asked us for a shot at the skins. We were blown away with
his grove. Our old drummer was metal all the way a great drummer. But
we are a hard rock band at our core so Chanse's straigte rock style fit
right in. I also have a southern metal side. You can hear it in songs
like Up from the floor, One foot in the grave and Train of pain. Lynn
May was the next band member to join up. He came in on bass and the
chemisty was instant. Lynn and Chance also have a muiscal history. They
have played together in local Ada bands since Jr high. So the fact that
we have only been a crew for a year. Its amasing the comfort we feel
when we play together. Eli and I write all the songs so far. But were
hopeing for something from the other guys. That would be welcome. lol.
We just wanna rock. anywhere, anytime. We usually practics twice a
week. The biggest challange we face is the money issue. When you play
your own music. Your first concern is name recognition and a fan base.
So you play alot of gigs for those two things in mind and not the
money. So we are moving to a situation were we still have day jobs and
families who by the way are very supportive and belive in us. But
trying to fit in a full time job and all the gigs. Its been a challange
but worth it. If you want to get to the next level. Thats what we are
moving into now. We've stuck it out and the fans are starting to come.
We are getting a good name. The music comes first and speaks for
itself. I say that as humble as I can Lol. Just stay in the game is my
advise. Rick, kts.
We are a hard hitting band. We kick ass live! If you havent seen us
live you've missed out. We have a southern metal side to us being from
Oklahoma. We're all about the 4 b's beer, babes, bikes, and bar b-Q. oh
and sometimes bucks.
Chuk Cooley and the Demon Hammers
Being kin to the late great Spade Cooley, king of country & western swing music from the 1930s era, it seems the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. But for protégé Chuk Cooley, nothing has come easy. After leaving home in Odessa , TX at the age of fifteen, crossing the country on a battered old motorcycle, living on the streets and sleeping under bridges… After surviving numerous addictions and two life-threatening drug overdoses… After serving hard time with both the Texas and Oklahoma D.O.C… Most would have given up by now! But eight years in prison actually gave Chuk Cooley a sense of awareness, the time to truly find himself, and an education in the craft of writing meaningful songs. Music is all Chuk Cooley has left in this world. Besides his five beautiful children (all of whom sing and play music), he has found that songwriting provides freedom from the pain of his life. FREEDOM to just let go and be himself. Like many, he has had a wretched battle against the demons of addiction – the needle and the spoon. And like many he has lost much… two families, and several career opportunities. But whenever his faith in life began to waver, always the gift of music was there in front of him. During those darkest days, always there was an acoustic guitar just waiting to be picked up. Chuk grew up watching his father Dallas Cooley write and play songs, and once behind bars he finally learned to play the guitar himself. Having been out of prison for 15 years, with several attempted bands behind him, he has tried time and time again to make it. But Chuk now gives ALL with his own words and his own songs - one final shot at his lifelong dream. His goal is to truly live life, and to right his wrongs by sharing his story and writing music that inspires and touches people’s souls. CHUK COOLEY AND THE DEMON HAMMERS BIO: Chuk Cooley is a bluesy, southern, tattooed rocker trying to share his life story through songs - a story of courage and change that he called “Heart and soul anthems from the streets of hell”. After many years of being in and out of bands, Chuk finally went solo… with words and music he had written over 20 years of hard life. With just an acoustic guitar and his voice, Chuk started opening for heavy metal acts such as Jackyl, Soldiers Of Scrape, Blood of the Sun, Rhino Bucket, and many many others. Though there was something missing, so.. On a dark, rainy October day in Tulsa, Chuk met a bass-player named Sondra Davis and they immediately hit it off and started jamming. A short time later Chuk asked lifelong friend and heavy rock guitarist Tony Loretti to learn a few of the songs for a recording. Chuk and Tony had previously been bandmates in the groundbreaking metal group Berserkr. These additions started to really fill out the sound of Chuk’s songs, and he then recruited drummer Jester. When the four musicians first played together as a unit, the chemistry was immediate and undeniable. After just a few jam sessions it was clear that something very special was happening. With just two acoustic guitars, an acoustic bass, some flute, and a five-piece trap kit, Chuk’s songs came to LIFE. Thus Chuk Cooley and the Demon Hammers were born. The band had their first live appearance at the historic Cain’s Ballroom during the 2007 Freaker’s Ball, where they received a very enthusiastic audience response and a write-up in the Tulsa World newspaper. Since then they have stayed very busy, working up new material and playing shows around the region to larger and larger crowds. Their unique style – all acoustic but very heavy southern rock, with a deep and serious lyrical theme – never fails to get the attention of anyone who sees them live. The band has also been in the studio where they recorded 2 Ep's titled “Chuk Cooley & the Demon Hammers (Volume 1)” & "Look at Us Now". The song "The Lost" was used in the award winning film festival independent movie “Jesus Fish”, and has generated great reviews among the local music scene. They also since 2007 have played well over 400 shows around the country from Austin Tx to Kansas City playing all over the Midwest from smalltowns to big cities. Also they recorded 2 professional videos for the songs "The Lost"which they won Best Music Video at the Scipt to Screen Film Festival 2008 and for the song "Black Jarr" which they won Best Music Video at the Bare Bones Film Festival 2009. They' also recently been nominated for Best Male Vocalist & Best Metal/Hard Rock Act for the Absolute Best of Tulsa/ Urban Tulsa Awards 2009.WINNING the Abot award for best hard rock band beating out 2 signed bands and 2 heavier well known acts with just there acoustic guitars. Also recieving many 5 star reviews and write ups and interviews in local & surrounding states magazines and newspapers. The goal of the band is nothing less than international success – to bring Chuk’s personal story of redemption to life with a backdrop of unique and melodic Acoustic Southern Heavy Rock-n-Roll.

Once every generation the rules that define rock and roll are tossed aside when a band of epic proportions appears out of nowhere to bludgeon the public with its unique style of music and social commentary.
Texas Hippie Coalition is proud to claim the crown as the kings of red dirt metal. The uncompromising attitude of the band was best summed up by Big Dad Ritch. When asked what THC is really about, he growled, took a deep breath and stared a hole straight through the stranger and summed up the essence of red dirt metal in a single work...............LIFE.
Jared Sutton - Vocals
T.J. Chesshire - Guitar, Vocals Jarrod Baker - Guitar
Bobby Jack Miller - Bass Jeremy Wilson - Drums The opening line to Fat
Dixie’s “Backroad”…“I’m just country, unlike the rest”…sums up this
seasoned band. With roots firmly in the south, Fat Dixie has taken
their love for bands such as The Black Crowes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Randy
Rogers, Willy Nelson and Waylon Jennings along with some not so country
bands such as STP, Train and Tom Petty to cultivate their own sound
that is creating quite a stir throughout the region. Fat Dixie formed
in May of 2006 when Jared Sutton, Shaun Cook, and Jarrod Baker
(formerly of Oklahoma based band Bishops Alley) called T.J. Chesshire
and Bob Miller (formerly of Texas based band Ragtown) and asked if they
would be interested in hooking up to start a new project. Not long
after, T.J. and Bob moved to Seminole, Oklahoma and Fat Dixie was born.
Prior to Fat Dixie’s formation, the guys toured the region for 7 plus
years in their respective bands playing over 1000 shows, releasing 3
full length albums, and cultivating a fan base. In December 2008,
drummer Jeremy Wilson became the newest member of the band. Since Fat
Dixie’s inception, the band has written over 30 original songs,
released a debut album entitled Spinning My Wheels in July 2007, gained
ground in several radio markets, consistently ranked as one of the top
5 unsigned Southern Rock and Country artists in Oklahoma on MySpace,
and performed shows throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas,
and Texas. Currently, the band is gearing up for the release of their
sophomore album entitled Speakeasy, touring everywhere they can, and
enjoying the simple pleasures of the road. Speak Easy is scheduled for
release Spring 2009.
HECTOR is a three-piece hard rock band from Hectorville,
Oklahoma. The band was born out of a desire to reach two common goals.
First, we wanted to create our own brand of commercially viable,
original rock music - a sound linked with the familiar legacy of rock
n' roll, but with a stamp and a flavor from our own neck of the woods.
Second, we wanted to channel our creative energies into live
performances that infect our listeners with enthusiasm for what we do
best. In sum, our mission as HECTOR is about writing music that we
enjoy deeply, and about sharing our music with audiences in ways that
evoke the best possible feelings that can be experienced at a live rock
show. Since our beginnings in December, 2007, we have made strides in
achieving these goals - we are developing a reputation as a great live
band with original songs that people are eager to hear again and to own
for themselves.
HECTOR's Influences
HECTOR is influenced largely by the classic rock of the 60's and 70's,
metal from the 80's and 90's, and blues-rock in general - although the
full range of our musical influences is difficult to summarize. Our
sound has been compared to those of acts such as Led Zeppelin, Clutch,
Pantera, Alice in Chains, the Doors, the Beatles, AC/DC, the Deftones,
Black Sabbath, Derek and the Dominoes, and Guns n' Roses, just to name
a few. However our influences surface in any particular song, we strive
to keep the music simple, honest, and catchy - centered around catchy
riffs, lyrical content and melody, and grooving rhythms.
HECTOR's Members
JEFF FIELDS is singer, lyricist, and bassist for HECTOR. Jeff has been
a singer since early childhood, and began formal music training on
saxophone, guitar, and bass at age 11. The late Tulsa guitar legend
Mike Bruce was a close friend and neighbor, so much of Jeff's knowledge
of guitar and bass stems from their relationship. Jeff has spent the
last 20 years honing his songwriting and performance skills in a number
of bands and solo projects. Some past projects include: (in Tulsa, OK)
Rated R, Den of Thieves, Three Days Crazy, Brian Grey Trio, (in
Dubuque, IA) the Firewood Revival, (in Madison, WI) Narwhal,
Stonefloat, Venice Gas House Trolley, Calico Drifters, Dwarves of Yore,
and Blood Jewel.
PATRICK WOOD is the guitarist for HECTOR. Perhaps because his father
played guitar, Patrick began playing guitar at a very early age -
around 6 or 7 years old. Patrick has also received training in piano
and bass guitar. Having such an early start with guitar meant that
Patrick soon found himself playing with older, more seasoned musicians
than his own peer group could offer. These experiences have shaped
Patrick's guitar playing into a mature, hook-driven art form. Patrick
was involved with one band before HECTOR, the Tulsa-based group
Outmind, in which he served as bassist.
PAUL COOK is the drummer for HECTOR. Paul began formal training on
drums and guitar at age 11. Since his father was an active musician,
Paul spent a considerable amount of his time growing up around older
musicians. Combining this experience with his general love of music,
Paul has developed into a well-rounded musician with a vast knowledge
of songs and a wizened ear for songwriting. Paul's past projects have
included several Tulsa-based bands: Rated R, Den of Thieves, Methodose,
Chozen, and Outmind.
DEAD METAL
SOCIETY - Members of 3 well known Tulsa bands come together
for a common
purpose.....play the music they love from "Back in the
Day"................. Mark & Caleb from IMZADI_______
Todd
& Ben from THE
ELEMENT_______ 9 from MOURNING
TREE......................(don't worry, no one quit their
other
bands!)................... 80's metal has all the smokin solos,
screeching vocals, booming drums, and all the bombastic beauty that has
been forgotten in today’s rock..... For all it's excess and cheesiness,
there are some very talented musicians that have been forgotten. As we
re-learned these songs from our "hair days", we had to admire the
musicianship of these legendary axe men and vocalists........... It may
not be top of the pop charts now, but we will always remember the
greatest music renaissance of all time. And...in remembrance....we
invite you to join....THE DEAD METAL SOCIETY__________ Coming very soon
to a venue near you!!!
