Honest, ballsy rock void of pretension." - Chris Gibbs, Twin Cities FM The Date are a solid rock experience, musical and driven with a distinctly Australian sound that showcases their take on the world through poetic and sonic expression. They have been busy over their two and a half year career independently releasing their singles, and are now back with the national release of their album 'Updated'. 'Updated' is a 10 track album of guitar driven, melodic songs with a uniquely Australian flavor. The band have continually played around Perth over the last two years and have started to build up a following at their home shows at The Paddo in My Hawthorn. The Date are blues-based rock aficionados and their own take at the genre has evolved into something quite distinctive; it's a rock sound with pop sensibilities, lyrically rich with a no-nonsense delivery. With shows to promote the album in both Melbourne (headlining at both The Espy on the 3rd of June) and in Perth (headlining at The Paddo on the 10th of June) to promote their latest release, the band are starting to gain a measure of momentum in the industry.
