About me:
1971 Selena was born in Lake Jackson, Texas
1975 Selena shows her father how could she can sing at only 3 years old she was a pro and joined Selena y los dinos with her brother and sister
1980 Selena y Los Dinos first began performing.
1983 First recording from Selena y Los Dinos.
1987 Received first success with Female Vocalist of the Year and
Performer of the Year awards at the Tejano Music Awards.
1989 Signed by EMI Latin.
1990 Her first EMI-Latin album, "Selena y Los Dinos" is released.
1991 First female Tejano recording artist to score a Gold Record
with "Ven Conmigo".
1992 Selena married her guitarist Chris Perez
1993 Grammy for best Mexican American performance for "Selena Live".

1994 Won a role as singer in the film "Don Juan DeMarco".
- Became the first female crossover Latin artist signed to SBK,

31 March,1995 that year she was shot and killed at a Days Inn hotel in Corpus Christi. The shooter was Yolanda Saldivar, the founder of the Selena fan club and manager of Selena's clothing boutiques, who apparently realized she was about to be fired for embezzling money from the singer. Saldivar was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 30 years.
