HalleyAnna Finlay has been playing music for about 10 years. She was raised in a house surrounded by music, with a steady diet of Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, and the Carter Family. When she's home, it's usually Neil Young on the phonograph and weathered poetry books in her hands. Music has always been the center of HalleyAnna's life, "I remember pickin' flowers in the yard while my dad was writing songs with Slaid Cleaves and Todd Snider." She was playing local coffeeshops and song circles to blossom her career as a folk singer by age 12 and her music reflects real live situations. "Cold Rain," off the Starboat EP, was written in the spring of 2007 to inspire everyone to simply find the good in everything they do. HalleyAnna has toured Texas with Todd Snider and Rodney Hayden, shared stages with Sunny Sweeney and Hayes Carll, and seen the world through blublockers. HalleyAnna is currently attending Texas State University to get a degree in creative writing, and you can usually find her on her bike or in the garden.
