Lancaster, SC – The Urban Literacy Project, Urban Street Chronicles, and Smooth’s Music, Books & Gifts will host a Seminar and Book Signing, Private Meet and Greet, and Movie Launch Party and Casting Call featuring national award-winning author Omar Tyree.
Omar Tyree, the Founder and Chairman of the Urban Literacy Project, is a New York Times best-selling author, a 2001 NAACP Image Award recipient for Outstanding Literature in Fiction, and a 2006 Phillis Wheatley Literary Award winner for Body of Work in Urban Fiction. He has published 18 books and has sold nearly 2 million copies worldwide. With a degree in Print Journalism from Howard University in 1991, Tyree has been recognized as one of the most renowned contemporary writers in the African-American community. He is also an informed and passionate speaker on various community-related and intellectual topics.
Omar Tyree will lecture Saturday, December 20th at 4:30pm at USC Lancaster Stevens Auditorium in Hubbard Hall. Following the seminar, a Private Meet and Greet for sponsors will be hosted at Smooth’s Music, Books, & Gifts, 134 S. Main St. in Historic Downtown Lancaster.
