...... .. .. Introduction: .. The 29th WARD: IN-YOUR-FACE rock band that gets low-down and funky, bringin high-energy roots-rock together with an old-school singer/songwriter vibe. Since 2006, the 29th Ward has evolved from a singer/songwriter project to a full collaborative effort. The result of the collaboration is an eclectic mix of blues, funk, roots-rock, classic rock, acoustic, R&B, jazz and folk... .. Major influences include The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Santana, The Band, Pink Floyd, Robert Cray, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, The Meters, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Bob Marley... and many others... .. The Players:.. The 29th Ward’s vintage grooves turn on the swingin beats of Chris Belin’s snappy Apple kit. Newest member, Steve Mihalic, has found a home in the WARD with the edgy, bedrock tone of his Rickenbacker bass and upbeat thumpin. Tom Kenniston brings the Rock to the audience with vicious rhythms, old-school solos, and an enviable collection of fedoras, bowlers and derbys. Evan Dean’s voice comes like a knife and a lover, backed up by a scorching Strat or a plaintive Gibson. His words are both lyrical and narrative, visceral and impulsive, often relying on irony and absurdism... .. Live Shows:.. A 29th WARD show can be like seeing three bands. Often, the group opens with an acoustic set laden with poignant originals and choice covers. The WARD then moves into the mid-tempo roots-rock for which they are best known among fans. Alas, their thirst for distortion and feedback must be quenched. So, the WARD often sends their fans home with the white-hot rockers in the song locker, which quite often yields dizzying, ecstatic, and exhausting results. But see for yourself… You won’t be disappointed…... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .......... .. .. ...... ........ Get ..Myspace Layouts.. @ ..CodeMyLayout.com.. .. .. .. -
