Bio
.. .. .. .. .. .. ..Harold Allen brings a soft, finger-picking style of the delta blues to your stage, crossing several genres of musical interests including folk, traditional, gospel and classic folk rock. The blues sound of the Mississippi Delta is featured in his rendition of music performed by the legendary Mississippi John Hurt. John Hurt had an unusual style of finger-picking the guitar to provide his own bass guitar sound while finger-picking the strings which created an illusion of multiple instruments being played at the same time. This unique style of guitar proved to be an individualized blues sound beginning in the 1920's. In addition to Mississippi John Hurt, the musical works of Bob Dylan, Tom Rush, Ry Cooder, Townes VanZandt, Doc Watson and Blind Willie McTell have been inspiration for this musical performer. Renditions of these and other styles can be expected during this performance. Rural Kentucky and West Virginia coal camps were where Harold grew up. He spent hours listening to and learning from his dad as he strummed out tunes on his guitar. Mountain songs like "Barbara Allen" and "Silver Dagger" as well as a variety of Jimmie Rogers' and Hank Williams' songs were on his list of favorites. Having traveled around the country, Harold has performed on a variety of stages. When asked what his favorite setting for performance was, Mr. Allen replied, "small group settings, due to the closeness of the set and the ability to connect with the audience during performances." Providing accompaniment, both on bass guitar and vocals, is Terri Allen. Terri has a rich Clay County musical heritage. This performer grew up listening to her paternal great-grandmother sing gospel hymns using shaped notes, and her maternal grandfather playing folk mountain music on his dulcimer; it was this musical background that paved the way for this performer who began pursuing musical interests as a child of 11 playing piano in her dad's traveling family band. Appalachian folk songs, gospel, blues, and an occasional bluegrass tune are all part of the music to be enjoyed during current performances. Together, this pair brings a broad spectrum of education and entertainment to their performances. Expect to feel like tapping your foot and singing along with this crowd pleasing performance...... .. {}.. .................. .. .. .. ............Myspace Layouts.... - ....Solid Colors Myspace Layouts...... ....Myspace Codes.... - ....Myspace Generators.... - ....Myspace Backgrounds.... .. .. .. .. -

What's up 2Blue? Cities crumble, skies ignite spontaneously in your presence. Panoramic aromavision is the future. How can I help but use your eyes as a means for self-asphyxiation? Your tears evoke a taste as memorable as honey. The skin I shed is a perfume that makes water bubbles so terribly clear to me. You turn the atmosphere ablaze with currents of sweet ethylene when you smile. The stickers hugging the fruit smell better than the perfume of ambergris. Your intoxicating reflection can but incorporate freely into the powerful surface of a disintegrating mirror set afloat upon a swarm of locusts.
