About ♫♪κıđ ℓαzγ♪♫ *|*http://www.twitter.com/Kid_Lazy*|*
Yshmael “Kid Lazy” Faustin was born & raised on the island of St. Maarten on October 31, 1990. He grew up originally as an only child with both parents in the household, Kid lazy always showed an interest in music but never really pushed himself to really get involved in it. He first started out singing as a little boy in his church choir, and even though it took him a while, he found his true love for singing. So as he got older he started listening to great singers such as Michael Jackson and Celine Deon (which were often played in the house), he also noticed other great singers like Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight, Boyz II Men, R. Kelly & Joe. As Kid Lazy got older heading into his teen years, He found himself listening to Hip Hop music. He then found friends who were completely into the whole Rap/Hip Hop game, and there his love for Hip Hop was born. He started writing lyrics and trying to find a style which fit him, while putting his singing aside he worked on developing his rap style and trying to get better. Since his parents were going through a difficult time he found himself ending up in a single-parent family with only his mother to support him, while his father left his mother and lived elsewhere, but nevertheless remained a good supportive father. With all of his parent’s problems he looked to music to always give him comfort and get him through hard times. Kid Lazy also took a great fondness in producing he grew to love putting different sounds together to make a straight steady sound which one can rhyme to. With all of this new likeness into the different aspects of music he worked and worked to be the best that he can.
In his third and fourth years in high school he found a new way of getting into music which was playing the piano. He then found a new set of friends who were more into the Rap/Hip Hop game as he was, and later developed a close friendship with them. Soon they all formed the group Ill Spill Production and immediately Kid Lazy became a member. With this new group he was determine to make a name for himself, he then started back singing and was determine to establish himself as not only one of the top rappers but one of the top singers on the island. His first real competition started in 2008 when he took part in the local annual loud ‘n’ lovin’ youth talent show which he performed in the singing category with his group which he created R.B.S. (Rhythm, Body & Soul ), the group wrote a song to the instrumental of Ne-Yo’s hit single “Go On Girl”, which was called “That’s A Fact”. The song was performed by Kid Lazy who was going by Young Gent at the time, Arlington “Young T.” DeWeever known to everybody as Theo and former R.B.S. member Juriel “Dukie”. The song was a raving hit which had the crowd rocking and fully satisfied, but unfortunately didn’t impress the judges as much and didn’t get to place. Kid Lazy then entered the annual Star Search competition which was a competition for soul singers only, and being very ill-prepared for the show he still was able to be one of the top 5 finalists in the male category. Later next year he was finished with school and was fully determine to achieve his goals as becoming one of the top artists on the island. Right after school his group R.B.S. was schedule to perform at the French side auditorium at the 2nd annual Rip The Runway show where young models showcase their talents while local artist showcase theirs. R.B.S., which was now consisted of only Young Gent and Young T., performed a song called “Never Felt Like This” which was wrote by “Young Gent”. The song was loved by the people so it was decided that the song should be recorded. Later down the year during the Andrew Dick’s Rock The House Show the group was attending as spectators but Young T decided we should perform the song “Never Felt Like This”, so he had a talk with Andrew and he approved for us to perform right there on the spot. So we went home picked up the instrumental to the song and gave it to the DJ and went up and performed. We gave the crowd a show and had everyone loving our stage performance.
