Interests
General
.. oh, go on then...tall skinny men with see-through skin, red, black, turquoise, cognitive-corporeal dissociation, surgery, pessimism, theorising that i might be an artist but doing nothing about it, using the word no, looking at shoes for people with beautiful feet, paranoia, DIY, staying in and wishing i went out more, the mind-body problem, silver not gold, stubborness (me not you), thinking about being a tattooed lady, avoiding the washing up, indecisiveness, bargain hunting, complaining (or so i am told), red wine, lager, vodka, gin, cider; you get the idea, staring at the tv and thinking about other things, writing lists, window shopping for expensive houses on primelocation.com, viscera, getting stressed out about everything and nothing, small dogs, thinking I should learn to play the drums, ambition, self harm (you not me)...to be continued...Music
.. now this is where you put me in one of those pigeon-hole thingys depending on what I write here...so I'm not gonna tell you...ha!Movies
Television
Books
.. I got some new ones!!! Mary Douglas - Purity and Danger (I've been meaning to read that since 1999), Julia Kristeva - Powers of Horror, An essay on Abjection (hope its as good as it sounds!)Ted Orland - The view from the studio door; how artists find their way in an uncertain world (hope its as good as Art and Fear; the rewards and perils of artmaking), Dani Cavallaro - The gothic vision (bit of a random one..i'll let you know) and Leonard Koren - Wabi-Sabi for Artists, Designers, Poets and Philosphers. And the old stuff = PERFUME...its really good, you should read it...Some i started and wish i could finish; butchershop in the sky, art in theory 1900-1990, meatphysics, touching the void, blood electric, suture: the arts journal, lazy, the phenomonology of perception. A few i did manage to read from start to finish; bodies, a defence of masochism, lila says, last exit to brooklyn, the blood of strangers, to kill a mockingbird, story of o, satanskin, sleepyhead, freak like me, the sadian woman, crash, the magus. Currently pretending to read: Michel de Certeau - The Practice of Everyday Life...coz I'm trying to re-fill my head with stuff for my 'other' life ... (P.S. I got to the end of touching the void woo hoo..thanks to being on jury service!)Heroes
.. heroes are for people who have no aspirations of their own...or something. When I was 13 my heros were L7 but I think they're all getting on a bit now (not like me..I'm still 13)
