    Besoffene Ritter, ein windiger Hydrant, hie und da ein Gewitter, ein unermüdlicher Morgen, alles zusammengefasst in einem Bruch. So widerspiegelt sich box in den Titeln des Tonträgers Bruch (Altrisuoni 2008). Oszillierend im Spannungsfeld des Jazz und der Beatkultur der zeitgenössischen elektronischen Musik entsteht in der Überraschungskiste ein eigener, durch die Mühlen der vier Musiker gemahlener Sound. Diese Mühlsteine sind: Niklaus Hürny (Trumpet), des Weiteren bei Da Cruz, dem Pullup Orchestra und K-tharsis; Fabian M. Mueller (Fender Rhodes), welcher sich mit dem Fm Trio und Jalazz dem zeitgenössischen Jazz verschrieben hat; Kaspar von Grünigen (Bass), mit Heart of the Machine und Playmate den Jazz und mit Schöftland und Marygold den Rock huldigend; Christian Geschwend, (Drums) mit Bubblebeatz auf alten Fässern und sonstigem Trash trommelnd. Seit neustem ist streut der Rapper Sky 189 literarisches Salz in die Mühle. ”BRUCH” was the first release of this extreme musical force. Spanned across the current beat culture, electronica and timeless jazz , BOX produces a unique sound ground together by its four elements. This acoustic quartet produces a somewhat improvised cacophony reminiscent of its electronic roots spawning their own unique brand of bastardised jazz. Niklaus Huerny, Fabian M. Mueller, Kasper von Gruenigen and Christian Gschwend layed the cornerstone in 2004 and through continuous brainstorming of original compositions fashioned and polished the album over a three year period. In 2007 the album was released world wide by Jazz label Altrisuoni and was heralded nationally and internationally for its brilliance which resulted in an European tour with performances on Swiss radio DRS3 and radio Swiss Jazz. Constantly on the search for new inspiration in 2009 the they joined forces with the acclaimed South African freestyle lyricist Sky189 who vocally seasons the mixture with freshness. This inspiring collaboration will be release in winter 2010/2011 and promises to be much, much more than beats and rhymes.

They’ ve created their own sound by incorporating many different genres of music, including house, trip-hop, drum&bass and jazz fusion. They have a concept reminiscent of (thougt not in any way copying) Dave Douglas’ ”The Infinite Band”... J pop
