ME-N-HIM is Dan Basham and Dave Raymer. This thing started back in 1976 when we were both in a mutual friend's wedding. The night we went to get fitted for tuxes, we got to talking about whatever came up, and fortunately, playing music was one of the subjects. We went up to Dave's and started playing whatever we knew. Surprisingly, that included Johnny Cash, Waylon, and Willie. It was that evening, Dave introduced Dan to John Prine. Little did we know then, that was the beginning of music connection that has lasted over 30 years!! Our first public gig was for the Bellflower Township High School Alumni Banquet later that year. Who would have guessed we would have ever played again after that! In 1978, we hooked up with Bob and Danny Hobbs, and Bryan Miles and formed The Good Ol' Boys band. Other members over the years included Greg Hobbs, Rob Noble, Tim Phillips, and the notorious Dan Kearfott. That put ME-N-HIM on the back burner for over 25 years. It was a good time while it lasted. Dave stayed with the band the entire time, while Dan took a break a couple different times (semi-burnout). Around 2003, we were contacted about playing music for the infamous Bellflower Senior Citizens Social Club - just the two of us with our acoustic guitars. That got the idea going again about doing an acoustic duo. In the mean time, The Good Ol' Boys thing had just about run it's course. That ended in 2004 and since then, it's been back to ME-N-HIM. We hadn't picked a name yet - in the running was "House Broke Puppies", but our wives didn't think much of that one! Therefore, it became and will stay ME-N-HIM. A lot has changed in the past 30+ years - we've grown older (but haven't necessarily grown up), gotten married (still with the same wonderful women), watched our babies being born and watched them grow up, watched them all get married to great people, and have seen them start their own families. The one thing that hasn't changed is that we still love strummin' the guitar and singin' songs together, whether it's around a fire in the back yard or on a stage playin' for the good folks who come out to see us. Hopefully we'll see you soon, too!! .. .. .. .. .. .. ....
