Double M it is formed by: Mário Mendonça, Mauro Sequeira and Rute Lopes. They are 3 young artists who starts to give the first steps in music in 2001 and had chosen the Hip-hop will disclose themselves. The ideia to form a band was in their childhood, when they start to hear other groups of rap that it had in the height. Although hip-hop was not very accepted in Portugal at that time, so they just had access to some North American sounds wich become their influences. The name "Double M" was chosen because it was the initials for Mário and Mauro, but soon it becomes more than that. It's also the "Double Half”: "Two halves are a unit and are as soon as we function in unit, one do not function without the other and when we are on the stage one without the other, it is as if it lacked half of us". Persistence and a hard but joyfull work in music make them create new more songs and lead them to more than 30 concerts given in schools, for the friends and at most concerts wich all credits will reverse to charity… Double M doesnt really care about the money: "This is nor for the fame and money but it help us to leave a fingerprint in every person who listen to our music. And if it make us help others, that's pretty fine!"
