Writing (fiction, cyberpostings, lonnnnggg emails.) Reading (literary fiction, some mystery, celebrity gossip.) TV (The Law and Orders, all of 'em, Monk, Girlfriends, Everybody Hates Chris, reality tv.) Web surfing (what up KS crew!, I gotta hang around MySpace more.) My kids' school (I'm involved to the eyeballs.)
Music
I'll just say that I'm not into country or polka. I'll always have a place in my heart for hip-hop, good hip-hop. I love a lot of R&B, pop, and alternative. Lately, I've really been happy with the neo-soul. I dunno, I just like music. You'll find Jill Scott, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Rage Against The Machine, The Roots, Joss Stone...in my collection. I have downloads from Moby, Joni Mitchell, DMX, and Gwen Stefani. There's just a lot out there that I like. And I can't completely knock country, at least if Garth Brooks as Chris Gaines counts.
Movies
Fight Club is a favorite. I like everything Robert Rodriguez does. For some reason, I feel as though I MUST watch any movie that Ice Cube or Vin Diesel is in...I can't explain this. I like good comedies and action movies. I used to be big on horror movies, I guess I still like them. Don't shoot me, I haven't seen the latest Star Wars, but I'm a bigger fan of The Matrix. I don't usually like period pieces or war movies. I'll say I don't like documentaries, and yet I'll watch them...Super Size Me changed my life! LOL!
Rest in Peace, Tamara Dobson, AKA Cleopatra Jones!
Television
I'll just say Yes! I like TV. Too many shows to count. Should I give my fall line-up? The Law and Orders, House, ER, Girlfriends, Everybody Hates Chris, Veronica Mars. I'll watch the judge shows during the day, I would love to meet Judge Hatchett, she's a powerful woman.
Books
Anything by Toni Morrison or Alice Walker. Great fan of the work of the best thesis advisor in the whole world, Naeem Murr. Also fond of Tayari Jones, Walter Mosley, Stephanie Plum novels, the weird Roald Dahl stories like "William and Mary"...probably a lot more because I read a lot, but I've been dealing with reading lists for school for the last two years and whatever crossed my desk at work.
Heroes
Uh, my husband, Oprah, Billy Jack.

About me:
I'm married with two children. A New Jersey native living in Baltimore, Maryland. I have a BA in English from Hampton University (Ogre Pirates, where ya at?) and an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte (woo-hoo!)
I wrote a novel, a literary novel with an urban theme, and I'm looking for an agent. My work has been referred to as "quite the page turner" by Naeem Murr, "energetic and compelling with one surprise after the other" by Cathy Smith Bowers, and "a deliriously rich read" by Pinckney Benedict. If you're a browsing agent or publisher looking for a new voice, please keep me in mind.
My flash fiction has appeared in Shine: The Journal and will appear in Flask and Pen.
Who I'd like to meet:
Writers, agents, editors, publishers. People who knew me when. And family I need to check up on...unh-huh, I'm talking about you!
