2000 BLACK is an independent cooperative economic project of T.R.U.T.H., Inc. T.R.U.T.H. Inc. is an information research service institution, specializing in gathering and disseminating information for and about African/Black people throughout the diaspora.
Taking control of the economics in this type of project allos the producers to present the music and the lyrical content in an unedited and uncensored way, in which the majority of the time in the major music industries our artist are not allowed to do.
The artist will display a variety of musical idioms and ideas in poetry that are reflective of our communities.
Our communities are in desperate need of liberation. And, in any liberation movement the artist must play a key role in the movement. The artist reinforce and amplify the ideas and voices of the leaders, historians, social critics, and activist a thousand fold.
Music, as a whole, in this society, has not served our best interest, but it works to further keep us in a passive and confused state of mind. So music is a very powerful tool that can be used for our upliftment or downfall. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, but music is worth a thousand pictures. The sum total of the picture of the music in 2000 BLACK is reflective of a people moving toward freedom in the 21st Century, giving "SOUND ADVICE".
