    .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. It has been a long hard road for songwriter, designer and musician, Johnny Kühn to arrive at the desired expression in the project 2000 TONS. The songs are based on a series of heavy personal experiences - hence also the name 2000 TONS. .. .. One cold November night Johnny sat down in his basement and began writing songs for 2000 TONS. The song, ”Struck from behind” was the first initiative which grew out of necessity after he had lost his good friend in a big accident, where 9 cyclists were hit by an oncoming car. The title describes the feeling of an emotional underhand attack during the time of loosing a friend. .. .. Johnny Kühn had not written as an independent songwriter for almost 14 years, but the loss of friends and family members through a period triggered a deep need to address the emotions and frustration from repeated shock and mourning periods. Song writing in 2000 TONS would now be used as a constructive therapy. Manifesto and the goal was to release all the dark and come out the other side with a series of songs such as Johnny describes as the most genuine and brutally honest he has ever written. .. .. As for the music-style, it has been natural to choose a relatively aggressive line, but it has simultaneously been an objective to retain the good and the beautiful melody. So 2000 TONS ended up working with a mixture of metal and electronic soundscapes without being afraid of the word pop. The images reflected in the material around 2000 TONS arises from the musical and textual phrases. These visual expressions are, unlike many others in the metal genre, not created just to attract attention, scare or shock. The genre might be called mature metal. .. .. 2000 TONS will start to publish EP’s one of which, ”Shock”, just published digitialt to iTunes and many other digital webshops. The song ”Struck from behind ’is given a music video, filmed and directed by Thomas Feiring (thomasfeiring.com). The project will culminate in a forthcoming full album. ..
