Bio:

Soul started off writing poetry for as far back as he can remember, as the years went on he fell in love with Hip-Hop, so his writing style began to change and although he still writes a lot of poetry, he gradually started to find the essence between what he was writing poetically, and what he wanted to say musically. Soul has been rapping on a serious level for around five years, but He has surrounded himself in the hip hop culture from the time he was just thirteen.

Inspired by artists such as Tupac, Wiley, Sam Cooke, Akala, Dizee Rascal and Skinny man his focus turned from listening to music, to music making. Due to his poetic background, Soul is widely regarded as being an "Urban Poet". Using life experiences and issues affecting the world around him, he captivates you and makes you want to know more. What really stands out about his music is his eloquent delivery and unique flow. He lives up to his name by providing uplifting, thought provoking and ambition filled lyrics. Soul has achieved many plays on his tracks as well as amassing a small but ever growing fan base of loyal followers who await each new track eagerly and regularly show love and support for him. Although he has only been doing music for just over four years, Soul has been working nonstop by releasing various EP's and several noticeable collaborations, some of which have been with over sea's artists, A long with gathering various write up’s, paper reviews, several different radio station interviews, where his tracks have been voted “track of the week” by listener’s.

He has been featured on several Mixtapes, and just recently got to the national grand finals of a competition called Open Mic UK 2009, and played live at Portsmouth Guildhall. After successfully getting through the audition stages and the live regional finals at the Bedford corn exchange, in which he beat off 8,000 hopeful acts in 12 regions a crossed the UK. He has now finished work on his debut album entitled “Urban Poetry” which will be available to buy early 2010 from his soon to be website www.soulurbanpoet.co.uk HMV, Itunes and a few other places. He has also just released his debut single “My Life” with a “My Life (Remix)” For digital down load on ITunes, Napster, Rhapsody, E-music, and Amazon-MP3 which is available to buy now.

He has become not only part of the urban music scene in his home town of Milton Keynes, but becoming a front runner for it also. He has performed live with many artists and also performed solo at many events a crossed the UK at various venues with different promotions, he has performed on the same bill as Canada's Abdominal and DJ Fase, Skinnyman, AC and Terra, Genesis Elijah, Nemesis crew, just to name a few…So what’s on the cards for Soul in the near future, well he plans to capitalize on his success on the Open Mic Competition by getting a mass of gigs booked in with different venues, the release of his debut album, and a few remixes in the pipeline as well as a couple of collaborations, with new producers as well as artist’s and a new music video. Way to many to mention and to be honest if i wrote a massive list it would just get boring! Im influenced by Change, and the people who cause change, Im influenced by the people ive hurt, or let down, but then again im influenced by the people who have hurt and let me down.. Poetry, Friends, Family food and music...the rest is just long.
