Sounds Like
Music to change minds and moods... At the start Blink 182 and Green Day inspired us. Now people say we sound like: U2, Angels and Airwaves, The Stone Roses, The Doors, Oasis (without the bombast!), Brand New, Bright Eyes and a cross between Bloc Party and Inspection 12... Please add to the list..

THE STORY - Four piece post-punk band, 2 Many Units, formed in June 2005. Their sound fuses traditions - melodic alternative post-punk with ska, blues and prog influences. Their early inspiration was Green Day and Blink 182 but they now cite an eclectic mix including Sigur Ros and 70s pronk band The Cardiacs!
They have played over 100 gigs across the region and have had the opportunity to support The Chapman Family, We Start Fires, Failsafe, Random Hand, Californian band Takota and Canadian band Chop Suicide. Appearances at the Ouseburn festival in Newcastle and the Thimbleberry happening near Stanhope in 2007 were followed in 2008 by slots at Voll die Ruhr in Mulheim, Germany, the Cultureshock festival in Northallerton and Middlesbrough Music Live.
They supported Paige at the Carling Academy in Newcastle and played venues in Middlesbrough, Leeds and Edinburgh with Misled Icons during in their summer '08 tour.
Their EP “Breaking Points” received positive feedback from the music press and the industry in general:
"The Worst Feeling ... has pleasingly soaring guitars and an airy melody. There is also a sweetness about the band which is very well showcased on Messed Up, an acoustic track which recalls Oasis when they ditch the bombast." (The Crack, Feb 2008)
LIVE PERFORMANCE REVIEWS INCLUDE:
On the night, many of 2 Many Units’ fans followed them to Tunes For Tilly, they cheered and sang with the band through their whole performance. (Northern Echo, rE-view web-site, May 2009)
You guys are sick...
(On the Tyne Promotions)
"2 MANY UNITS are a young band that obviously think very carefully about their whole sound and on stage presence. As well as hammering out tight riffs, the bass player wandered around the audience while the drummer did a spot of sword-swallowing" (Evening Gazette, July 2008)
"Music can break my heart or fill me with fire, and I would lay money that 2 Many Units are on the edge of that.." Alastair Pirrie (Writer and Broadcaster)
