2mi is a 22-year old up and coming singer/songwriter from Hertfordshire who draws her musical influences from artists such as Tracy Chapman, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. However, her view about her music aspirations is one of self-satisfaction as opposed those who are media hungry: Song-writing is what really gets my adrenaline pumping! But of course, sitting back and listening to your finished product, that is just bliss! A self-developed pianist from the age of 5 who plays by ear and one of the few degreed female music technologists around, 2mi began her song-writing experience from the tender age of 7 where she developed this skill by composing poetry, this graduated into being a method of self-ventilation. Well thought out melodies thrown together with rather unnatural chords brings together this melange of a neo-soul creation. Songs like Bassman, Numb and I Am Not Afraid (the latter becoming a fast growing favourite within the community) contain an R n B/bluesy feel two genres which have grossly influenced her musical taste. It has been said that her music is like a breath of fresh air. 2mi is now close to having another qualification under her belt - a Masters' Degree in Music Business Management. This degree will provide ample ammuntion to launch the musician into the competitive music industry, with the eventual aim of becoming one of the most successful music execs in the world.
