.. The continuation of a linage rooted in truth..... 2's & 4's is at the forefront of the new wave in improvised music. Founders Julio Monterrey (alto saxophone) and Matt Parker (tenor saxophone) grew up together in Miami, Florida and have been playing and performing together for more than a decade. From 2003-2006 Monterrey and Parker toured with the great trumpeter Maynard Ferguson. Providing the harmonic and percussive glue that herds the madness of 2's & 4's are Ariel de la Portilla (bass) and Mikkel Hess (drums)..... 2's & 4's invites their audience to experience and participate in the act of innovative and original music, performance art, installations and creative/musical games. Artistic integrity and honesty, especially in honoring jazz masters of yesteryear, is showcased through their compositions.
