Riding a moped across the Carolinas? But that's exactly what we're doing. This summer we'll spend a week criss-crossing each state, spreading our message: Save Gas. End Thirst. The idea is simple. Every mile driven on a moped costs just 3.5 cents. Every mile in a typical car costs about 17.5 cents. We're asking you to pledge the difference: 14 cents for every mile we cover. That money will go directly to bringing access to clean drinking water to third world countries. Our goal is to support the work of Hydromissions International, a water ministry founded in 2003 by Steve and Jennifer Lorch. They are working to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ by providing clean water through low-tech products and services. Using 100-year-old encyclopedias for inspiration, they've designed and invented ways to easily construct water pumps with old bicycle parts and cheap items from hardware stores.
We find their practical method of tackling this problem completely inspirational. To raise money for their missions trips, Steve and Jennifer sell handmade soap
Our hope is that through 2 Wheels 4 Water, we can bring awareness to the amazing work Hydromissions is accomplishing and raise funds for them in the process.
