THE HISTORY .. How did 2xist come to be....you may be wondering....well....i'll tell you... .. It all started when I (Robert) got my first drum set from a yard sale. It was pretty old, but it did the job. This same day my dad also bought a guitar as a set. So anyways, days went by and I began to play the drums...teaching myself as i went along. Tony began to come over and also began to practice on my drum set. Then one day, I saw the guitar sitting all alone in the corner. I felt a deep sadness overcome my soul. I could feel the guitar calling me over, telling me to pick it up. So I went over and began strumming my fingers over the strings. And all of a sudden this magical sound came out. I felt a connection. All this time I had been wasting my time on the drums, thinking that that was my calling. When in reality it was the lonely guitar that I was destined to play, following in the footsteps of my father. To my dad's delight, I began hasseling him to teach me to play. Little by little he taught me cords and notes, later advancing on to scales. It came natural. I was a true natural at the guitar. It was as if it was already running through my veins, passed on from my father. Anyways, back to the band...on the other side of the story. Tony and I were beginning to play together. All we needed to complete our new dream was a vocalist and a bass player. Luckily, our friend Hector and Derek shared our passion for music. Hector turned out to be a great vocalist with his smooth rage inspired vocals slowly evolving to a great talent. Derek decided at this point that he would be our bass player, but he had to buy one...but... as it turned out he preferred to by shoes rather than a bass...so we new right then and there that he did not want to be in the band. We then ask ourselves...self...who can we find to be our bass player? First name that came to my mind was Chris. He was always willing to try new things. So we asked him and he said "sure." A couple of weeks later after he had saved up some $$$ he bought his first bass. And so...2xist was born on a hot lazy summer day on August 9,1999. .... .. -
