  • Bio

Gross National Product, comprised of four/five excellent Utah musicians, has been performing around Salt Lake City for 25 years now. The band has gone through many members, and todays group consists of three of the original musicians. Once upon a time, while playing at Juniors Tavern in 1983, we were asked to play ’Satin Doll’. We grudgingly complied, but Ralph the guitarist was angry. He turned his amp to eleven, and screamed through the tune. We all followed suit. Thus was born GNP. We play our original tunes without abandon, bordering often on avant garde, yet tight melodies and segues keep the band sounding tight and interesting. We are loud, then soft, moody, then rockin’, melodic, then outside. And we always play the songs differently. Improvisation is very important to us... In the previous two years, we have performed at the Utah Arts Festival, the Park City Arts Festival, the Brown Bag thing, the Gallivan Center, at the U of U music department a couple of times, the Avenues Street Fair, and the Ninth and Ninth Street Festival. Here’s where we have played over the last twenty years (in no particular order): Juniors Tavern, Hole in the Wall, Old Hotel, Alice’s, The Speedway, many Brown Bag concerts, Utah Arts Festival numerous times, Park City Arts Festival, Gallivan Center, DB Coopers, Egos, Toole Arts Festival, Logan Arts Festival, Dead Goat Saloon.. (I’ll add more as I remember them) Thanks for reading this far.

    EASTER BUNNY EVIL!

That damn bunny is always hiding those eggs.

Why does he want us to strugle for some eggs.

    I know why,
He wants to distract us with them so he can get him chance to steal all of the little kids.

Kids disapear on Easter and we have to stop that Damn Bunny!
    SO.......
I think we should all attack the easter bunny when we get the chance.

We have the chance today so take hold of it.

Get your pitch forks and other dangerous things.

    START A FUCKING MOB!
Get him and torture him because he has tricked us into looking for stupid eggs all day. then he got his chance to attack the little ones.

    ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK......
If you agree with me pass this message on
    Thank you

I loved my "Survey of Jazz" class that I took in the summer of 2001. Your guitar player Keven is the teacher of that class.
I would love to take that class over and over!!!!
