  • Bio

Danny Blume is a Grammy winning, 3 time Grammy nominated, producer, composer, engineer, mixer, collaborator, multi-instrumentalist, ProTools nerd, with a charming smile and winning disposition. .. For some more info you can look on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Blume .. Hello visitors, my name's Danny Blume. I've been making music for a long time and it still feels like I'm learning new things every day. For many years I spent my life touring and recording as a guitarist for lots of people including Kid Creole And The Coconuts, Lounge Lizards, Jill Sobule, Gavin Friday and many others. I've done tons of recording too, and have enjoyed working with Arif Mardin, Level 42, Medeski Martin & Wood, Evan Lurie, John Cale, Lisa Loeb, and so many others I don't have room to mention. I have my long running collective, Liminal. Liminal mixes experimental electronics with live instruments and has recorded and toured internationally as well as scoring several modern dance pieces. .. In 2000, I opened a recording studio and production company in Brooklyn called GoodandEvil with my partner Christian Castagno. For a decade we hunkered down in there and produced records and remixes for countless artists, including Elysian Fields, Felix The Housecat, Naty Botero, Cazwell, Amanda Lapore, as well as developing and writing with new artists. I won a Grammy for producing "Wonderwheel" by the Klezmatics, and received a Grammy nomination for producing and co-writing "Sexotica" by Sexmob. I plan to win more because that was a hell of a lot of fun and I got to wear my nice suit. .. A few years ago I moved my part of the operation to a beautiful farmhouse near Woodstock, NY while Chris maintains a studio in Brooklyn. My studio is here, and it's easy access to NYC for meetings, sessions, and gigs. I have plenty of extra room for bands on extended stays. Though I spent 20 years living in NYC, I'm a country boy at heart. I grew up in Ohio, steeped in traditional bluegrass, old timey, gospel, and general rootsy Americana. I make all kinds of music, and love it all, but these roots inform everything I do. .. I tend to stay pretty busy producing and/or mixing records, writing songs with people, doing sessions on guitar and bass, tv commercials, film soundtracks, and remixes. I play with a few different bands including Ben Perowsky's Mood Swing Orchestra in which twiddle electronics, Stoney Clove Lane in which I play bass, and various other bands in which I play guitar. If you need a guitar or bass player, you should ask me. I'm good. And I love it. .. Here's a crazy track I did with my buddy Chase. He made the video .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
