Bio
"exmagician, aka Belfast boy and Cashier No.9 guitarist James Smith, is a bedroom boffin, conjuring alchemical sounds from lo-fi materials. This six slice offering is a wonderful introduction to his oeuvre, all woozily narcotised beats and wiry guitar. 'Plan Retrieval' is quietly insistent, luring us down the rabbit hole with snatches of electronica and folksy melody, whilst 'Line In The Sand' gleams like a mirage in the desert, alluring and full of bright promise. Elsewhere, the piano motif of 'Lightning Struck A Deal' contorts around a jiving beat, whilst 'True To Form' is dreamy eyed and blissful. Listening to these songs is like drowsily watching the dance of dust mites in the rays of the summer sun, entrancing and gorgeous." .. Francis Jones, AU magazine .. .. "James Smith rose phoenix like from the embers of his old band with a clear plan to set the world alight all on his own. By stripping back on the band mates he could concentrate on audiofying what was bouncing around his head. In the process he has created a tidy package of tunes that could give bedroom pop the kick up the backside it needs. Smith is from Belfast and his part of the city must be a pleasant place to be as his flat gently sways to the sounds filtering from his computer. There are elements of Caribou in exmagician’s electronic presentations and an eagerness to cross genre boundary lines merely adds to a sound that quietly grows in your affections. Included here are just 2 of exmagician’s latest tracks. ‘Plan Retrieval’ is delicious slice of lo-fi pop, surface values are nice but there are discoveries deeper down that keep you coming back for more. ‘Our Days Are Numbered’ sees Smith change tact, wandering close to troubadour territory before sidestepping tired clichés and inventing a bright new template all on his own." .. from ..mp3hugger.com.. .. .. "..a charming brew of irresistible melodies powered along by programmed drums, washes of electronica, and fulsome folk-pop sentiments" Colin Carberry @ Hot Press .. ............Myspace Layouts.. - ..Myspace Editor.. - ..Image Hosting.... -

Thanks For Being A Friend.
But I have To Say This New MySpace So Sucks!!!
ALL THESE FLASH ADS PLASTERED ALL OVER EVERY PAGE NEEDS TO STOP!!! IT ANNOYS THE CRAP OUT OF EVERYONE!!! Not to mention how slow MySpace Is Now!!!
This latest change that you cannot block HTML from being added to your comments or other personal settings they took away.
THEY REMOVED ADD A FRIEND TO A CATEGORY. IF YOU SEND A FRIEND REQUEST NOW YOU CAN'T ADD THEM TO YOUR "BEST FRIENDS" LIST ANYMORE. THIS REALLY SUCKS!!!
The "NO MORE CAPTCHA" Feature does not work anymore.
What Happen To The "HTML CODE AND LINKS FOR YOUR PHOTOS".
WE HAVE ALL BECOME NOTHING BUT MYSPACE CLONES AS A RESULT OF ALL THESE CHANGES!!!
They have turned us into nothing but sheep without the ability to express ourselves.
