From his sound factory in the northern German city of Hanover, it seems as though, Christoph Döhne never rests. In his youth he was a drummer for numerous German guitar bands. Having outgrown that, he retains the drummer's customary good nature, rhythm, and endless tap-tap-tapping that we hear in Le Rok. Apart from various parallel projects (Zweiineins with Tobias Reimer and the trio Risque de Choc Electrique), this sculptor of syncopated electronica and delicate finishes has already released two albums as Le Rok, since his first release, "Hausarbeiten") the tapping has progressed across roughly twelve keys on his keyboard, and shows no signs of letting up with his other release "Approx Twelve". The tracks take shape as a construction of digital bits and cuts, the songs never lose themselves inside the technical devices from which they derive. In between all the tight textures remains a slight sense of melancholy which is not hiding itself but needs to be found. All the while the beats may stay up front but they are not consuming what is definitely there to be listened to. An interesting approach to digital cut and paste that manages to build serene ambiences while remains faithful to the rhythm. Well known in the scene, constantly innovating, Le Rok did not disappoint in last Sonar by day (2008).

Paul Frick was born in Berlin. He started to play the piano at the age of seven and took composition classes since the age of twelve. From 2000 to 2008 he studied composition with Friedrich Goldmann at Universität der Künste Berlin. Paul Frick has written and performed music in various contexts and styles: pieces for orchestra, chamber music (including one short opera), theatre music, music for radio plays (Deutschlandradio Kultur), experimental improvisation. On his way to house music, he played guitar in a heavy metal band, tried to be a rapper, played the keys in jazz, r'n'b, hiphop and salsa bands and produced two hiphop albums. A big influence were his bandmates from Konsens who made him enthusiastic about 4/4-bassdrums. Lately his EPs on Kalk Pets, THE GYM, Klamauk and 30porumalinha + RMXs on MBF, Mothership and Spontan have gained him attention for achieving complex musical textures and high dancefloor functionality at the same time.
Paul Frick plays live with a groovebox, a sampler and sometimes a keyboard, NO computer.

Contemporary classical music meets house and techno. Three young musicians with quite favorable histories join together for this exciting acoustic techno project. On the one hand Daniel Brandt and Jan Brauer, who as a duo named „Scott“ produce club music with a jazz attitude, like one may listen to on the EP „Anytime“, released in September on MBF Ltd. On the other hand Paul Frick, who has studied classical and modern composition with Friedrich Goldmann at Universität der Künste Berlin. Besides experimental pieces for orchestral instruments he also releases house music: lately the EP „Knock On Wood“ on Kalk Pets.
With vibraphone, prepared piano, drums, various percussions, fender rhodes, bass guitar and synthesizers the trio creates textures that bring to mind Steve Reich as well as the oldschool loop techno. Experiment meets deepness, complexity meets minimalism. The generation of the sound is mostly acoustic – even the bassdrum. Only few electronic instruments complete the sound, not least the computer, by whose means the recordings are edited.
Brandt, Brauer & Frick succeed in a thrilling synthesis of club and concert hall. On both platforms they want to present themselves, keeping both directions in view.

Scott was founded in the summer of 2006 by Jan Brauer and Daniel Brandt with the aim to play soulful minimal music with real instruments.
For recording their music they use real drums, a fender rhodes and some analogue synthesizers. They also use everything they can find which makes any noise and turn that into percussive patterns. Sometimes they get joined by different singers and guest-musicians. Watch out for their live-performances with electronic drums, keyboards and some more gear. They also get occasional visual-support by the visual artist julian schleef with his special Scott live video show.
In 2008 they toured intensively playing about 30 gigs in different countries including: sonar festival (barcelona), zouk (singapore), uebel & gefaehrlich (hamburg), loop (tokyo), nt areal (basel), watergate (berlin), nachtdigital festival, triangle (osaka), fusion festival, migz festival (moscow), gewoelbe (cologne), kassablanca (jena), c/o pop festival (cologne), becool (barcelona), glamset (salerno), luxor (arnheim) and many more.

Saturday night; Somewhere in an European Club.... French producer Sylvain Garcia aka Le K is playing live on stage surrounded by the crowd : He's banging is head, shaking is ass, controlling is gear and sending out a furious blend of groovy, twisted, energic and heady dance music. People are getting insane. One more time...
Le K reps the holy trinity of today’s club landscape: instrumentalist/producer/DJ. Learning to play the guitar seemed to be a good way to fight the atrocities of puberty and listening to the recordings of zany Zappa, arsonist Hendrix, and the LSD-inspired cadence of Pink Floyd and George Clinton helped a bit, too. His distinct sound is turning heads across the house and techno landscape these days.
Packing a barrel load of twisted ideas, monster groove, tongue-in-cheek humour and oodles of funk, the Le K style is akin to being trapped in a sequencer with Parliament, Hendrix and 808 State while being tickled mercilessly. In other words he’s bloody good fun to listen and dance to. Dance producers tend to release their music in a continuous flow. With LE K, it is different ; everything can be visited. Cause the French touch 3.0, doesn't have sonic limits, like the artists who has influenced him: Herbert, Robag Whrume, Ark, Derrick Carter, LFO, Matthew Dear, Squarepusher, Akufen, Jeff Mills, John Tejada, Pepe Bradock...
Le K has released club tracks on few estimable labels over the last years, including Circus Company (his parent label), Mineral Musica, Force INC, Feinwerk, Floppy Funk and most recently Thema, MBFltd, Klamauk, ... But stage seems to be definitely his home. Armed with a laptop and various midi controllers, but also mic, sometimes guitar, synth, every live set makes room for improvisation where his music is redefined, often with surprising outcomes. Swaggering into view with a wealth of originality and party-starting ammunition, the sharp ascent of Le K is going to be a crazy ride to keep up with, but ultimately a rewarding one. His live set only confirms all this, with as much physical energy thrown into his laptop as aural energy being expelled from the speakers.
It’s rare to see someone have so much interaction with a computer. And clubs have been figured out : He's been djing around the world in great clubs and festivals such as the rex (Paris), moog club (Barcelona), Propaganda (Moscow), Lost bagages (Sydney), Miss Libertine (Melbourne), Less (New-York), Zukunft (Zurich), Kassablanca (Jena), Villa (Oslo), Sonar festival (Barcelona), Overground festival (Geneve), Paysages Electroniques (Lille)... and more than 100 gigs in the last 2 years into 20 countries around the world (Australia, USA, Canada, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, UK, Norway, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Dominican republic) by the side of djs such as Thomas Melchior, Bruno Pronsato, Sammy dee, Ark, Agoria, Nôze, Efdemin, Modeselektor...

Music was always his way companion and his passion. As a guitarist he played in different Bands, with musical influences of new Wave, Hardcore or Indie post Rock. Then in the middle of the nineties the contact to Techno came in Hannover. The first electronic equipment was provided for starting his early productions in Techno.
With the removal to Berlin and first co-operation with the studio partner Danyell aka Teleman, they released with "VANILLA KREPP" on FREIZEITGLAUBENRECORDS 03 and also on the second EMERGENCY ADMISSION SAMPLER of the Popagenten/Berlin. 2003, he met the Singer Michael Skelton from Hamburg. They started the HIP HOP ELECTRO Project called "CITIZENS INTERNATIONAL" which developed into productions of the Technoproject "C.I.T.". Under this project they relesaed on ELCTRIC AVENUE (Label of Monika Kruse), KILLABEAT and SPOILER MUSIC. As the next consequent step, LARS WICKINGER tried his first solo Tracks. In 2006 he released Tracks on OPOSSUMRECORDS./Berlin and this successful BLUTRAUSCH E.P. on TRAUMSCHALLPLATTEN Cologne.

H30H always had a strong relation with music, his uncle has a huge collection of records from Jazz classics to modern Jazz and Latin, some Hip-Hop, some Punk, some everything, so every time he could he would go for his records!! Around 1996 he started to listen to Techno music beginning an increasing record collection, starting dijing in 2000. Around 2004 together with some friends H30H formed an association called 30porumalinha to promote electronic dance floor oriented events. Also a regular radio show transmitted directly by several radio stations in Portugal and Spain at Saturday night was hosted by him.
Continuously establishing himself has a respected underground dj, providing high quality music, H30H dj set is eclectic and for the dance floor, choices from Minimal to Nu-Disco, from Techno to Electronic melted with sparkles of Jazz and Funk with a present groove, lead the way through the dancing meeting no borders, providing the groove and the (to)night shake!! His objective is for people when they leave the club may do it smiling and happy, Djing is like a reward of Music to him, and it’s one of his goals, to be able to show people good music, promoting the ones that do it :) Artists!
30porumalinha now developed into a label managed by him in which quality production meets cutting edge dance floor music!

He as become a curious and sensible dj. With 21 years old and a nice ear, the music that you listen when he plays is translating the way you move and the vibes around the dance floor. Good feelings, imagination, the simple yet structured and the mix between.
Warming up for dOP, Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts, Zentex, Frivolous, Le K and Paul Frick’s Live sets this guy promises to be a great entertainer, as he did in Music Box and Kubik in Lisbon and also at Sun Factory and Fellini in Barcelona.

Afonso Macedo is a Dj and a Promoter for his [Put Some...] label. His love for music took him to the radio in early 1989 and he hosted several shows in Radio Nova and Rádio Jornal do Centro, nowadays he continues in Rádio Universidade Coimbra where every Tuesday he broadcasts all kinds of new music in the show "O meu Disco Azul". ,,He started is career as a dj in Coimbra in 1995 as a resident in "A Noite Tem Mil Olhos", since then he played all over Portugal. As a member of Journeys (1997-2001) and Cosa Nostra (2001-2007) he produced and took part of plenty of events all around the country.
,,Now he develops his work trough [Put Some...] as promoter of events in Via Club (Coimbra) and is responsible for the line-up of the electronic festival "Senses". Also promotes several different shows in his hometown, Coimbra.
As a dj he manages to balance a dynamic mix of techno-electro-house-breakbeat with loads of energy keeping the dance floor always near to the riot. In smaller clubs/bars presents a fine selection of groovy beats.

Daniel Brandt has been involved in music for a long time.  After playing drums and piano from an early age in several jazz, rock and pop bands and classical orchestras he focused more and more on electronic music.  After playing 4 years in the german drum & bass band "Die Spielwiese" he started two new live and production projects:  “The Free Electric Band” focused on minimal techno and electro with a stunning live-dance-show and "Scott " a production team with his friend Jan Brauer who play and produce house and jazzy techno with releases on My Best Friend ltd (Traum Schallplatten), Fluid Ounce and their own label Doppelschall.
With Scott Daniel and Jan toured around the world and played 30 shows in 2008 including shows in Tokyo, Moscow, Singapore, Barcelona and Berlin.
Daniel has also taken part in the Red Bull Music Academy 2006 in Melbourne, where he worked together with several international musicians like Dj Zinc, The Mizell Brothers, Aloe Blacc and many others. As a result of the Academy many collaborations with other participants were started. One of the collaborations resulted in the band "Haphazard" who will soon start to release a series of 7" records on London's Burnt Progress Label.
Recently he has joined forces with Paul Frick (Kalk Pets) and Jan Brauer from Scott to start a new project focused on a mixture between modern classical and techno music, The trio called "Brandt Brauer Frick".
Besides that Daniel is deejaying for more than 6 years all around the world having played at many clubs such as Bar 25 (Berlin), Honkytonks (Melbourne), The Butter Factory (Singapore), Salmon & Compass (London), Propaganda (Moscow) and Watergate (Berlin), just to name a few.  He plays a mixture between Old School House, Techno and Minimal House.
