....30KM INLAND..............Promote your Page too...... .......... ...... .. .. ...... / .. .. 30km INLAND is a five-year labour of love for seas and for the coastlines that magically hinge them to the uplands. All this music was written by Xavier Martí, whose life has been blown gently towards the mountains by the breezes of Spain's east coast. He lives around 29km inland from Valencia. He is a man of modest means who makes great wine and looks after trees. Willing and humble helpers have played and sung along with Xavier to create an album of zesty and dewy orchestral folk/soundtrack music with the flavour of all that is universal about the Mediterranean. Recording and mixing work has carried the project to London. We all have high hopes for 30km Inland. The songs have put pictures in our heads - all of us who have helped make the album. We're seeing the blue sea, of course, at daytime and nightime, and back through the centuries. Every one of the songs is about what happens in the water or near to it: in the deckchair man's flat, where his lover wonders who will be the first to duck or dive out of the affair; by the rich soil of Europe's best land for growing food, food for free from fertile earth being covered in cement by money-making fools; in the boats of the unpeople, drowning in a cruel sea as they try to reach the white land of plenty; in the bottles of a wine that brings sweet duets and dangerous intoxication; at a sad, seamen's funeral watched by the wild beach-kitties from the nearby caves; in a hilltop village for ritual cleansing to find the peace that Yeats yearned for... Xavier's album is finally ready. We helped him: David Sheppard, who mixed the whole lovely Bouillabaisse; Peter Wix, who sang his lyrics with Ines Naranjo; Juan Antonio Ramos, whose help with recording and arrangements was indispensable; and a crew of generous-spirited musicians who made Xavi's guitars go with the wind. There is some beautiful music here. Enjoy. Tell the four corners.
