| General | Swimming, yoga, dogs, horse-riding, cooking, reading | | Music | Rock, (light and heavy), some metal, (mainly 80's stuff), musicals - especially Les Mis. Some modern stuff. Can't stand wailing female vocalists like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis. | | Movies | Sci-fi, fantasy, comedy, weepies but not into romantic stuff and although I've watched loads of teen movies with my daughter it isn't through choice. At the cinema most recently saw 'Stardust' and although I'm not a Take That fan I love the title song, and so does my baby son. | | Television | Charmed, Ghost Whisperer, Andromeda, Farscape, that kind of stuff, and comedy; Mock the Week, Have I got News for you and Never Mind the Buzzcocks sort of thing. | | Books | Love the Harry Potter books, also enjoy comedy - for example Ben Elton books and Fantasy such as Terry Pratchett. | | Heroes | I feel like I should say Ghandi, or Mother Theresa, but in truth I fancy the arse off Robert Downey Jr, although I usually go for blokes in their 20s. I guess my real heroes are my parents. My Dad died in 2002 and I named my baby after him, because although we argued a lot when he was alive, death makes you realise how much you miss things like that, and it was the best tribute I could think of. And my Mum is just my rock, always there for me, and picking up the pieces and only saying "I told you so" on very rare occasions. |

About me:
I'm Claire and I'm 39 years old, separated although still friends with my ex and have four kids aged between 17 and 0, my youngest was born in November 2007. My 17 year old daughter is pregnant but she hasn't had her first scan yet. she didn't miss a period, just got moody and went from a size 8 to a size 12, she felt nauseous and we did a test, which was positive. The doctor says she's over 17 weeks but we won't know until some time next week.
I'm stuck at home a lot, moved back to my home town recently and don't know ANYBODY and am feeling pretty isolated so I'm looking for new friends that I can chat to on line. I'm not looking for love and romance - although I would like more kids but I want to spend quality time with my kids without worrying about all the politics and baggage that come with being "in love".
I'm a vegetarian as are three of my kids - my fourteen year old son stepped off the path of vegetarianism a couple of years ago - but I guess that's teenage rebellion.
I smoked for nine years but gave up when I was expecting my baby so I'm not some born again zealous non-smoker but I don't let anyone smoke in my house, car or round my kids - except the fourteen year old who, yes you guessed it has rebelled a bit, but he doesn't smoke in the house or the car or around the baby.
I'm an Aries, and although I don't believe that 8.3% of the population of the planet can all be the same I generally fit the profile of an Aries.
Officially I'm a Roman Catholic but I'd describe myself as spiritual rather than religious - I'm broadly Christian in that I believe in Jesus and possibly the resurrection, but I frequently attend the local spiritualist church and am convinced that the mediums do talk to real dead people and I also believe in reincarnation - maybe I just don't fancy purgatory though.

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who fancies a chat. Any sex, any sexuality, any race and any country. Not keen to talk to people who go hunting or shooting because of my animal loving side, or people who are going to try and convert me to their religion, although I do enjoy healthy discussion.
