Seriously bummed about missing Amebix in Jan, but seriously STOKED about Chaos in Tejas. What's up with Timmy spreading it out and having to pay for each place. I really don't want to have to pay for the Business/the Thermals and Propagandi on top of the 65 I am dopping for a wristband. Epic FAIL, but I am pretty stoked to wrap my arms around a bunch of dirty punks and skinheads and sing Cock Sparrer songs.

I like artwork as well, i'll get into kicks of doing artwork.. I also get into spells of collecting stuff...miniature scooter toys, homer simpson stuff, homies, toy skeletons, band posters though Im not a silkscreen poster nerd. i dig art by different folks...daniel johnston, andy warhol, mark rothko, tarra whitehead, ray johnson, salvador dali, joe coleman, winston smith, raymond pettibon, jon langford, matt nash...i like more primitive looking art, not necessarily "outsider" art...i love seeing hand lettered signs scrawled out...I also love seeing stencil art and graffiti art even though crap tagging is kinda annoying. I also like photography even though Ive gotten lazy and dont do anything anymore since Ive gone digital and i dont feel artsy with it...i like seeing tattoo artwork even though I think Ill stop at one... http://www.flickr.com/photos/invisiblerobot/

I like bands! i cannot say which is my favorite because it is constantly shifting and i may listen to something a lot and then not for years and again i may pick it back up... bands and artists that i have been in heavy rotation at some point are or have been byrds, pogues, willie nelson, uncle tupelo, cramps, big boys, johnny cash, minutemen, calexico, utah phillips, dead milkmen, lip cream, crudos, man is the bastard, the zombies, christie front drive, marty robbins, frank sinatra, the jam, les hulements d'leo, les negresses vertes, manu chao, the clash, wilco, patsy cline, the sex pistols, dwight yoakum, stiff little fingers, michael nesmith, the monkees, glen campbell, gogol bordello, scud mountain boys, michael nesmith, roger miller, the knitters, the polyphonic spree, replacements, the ruins, the rolling stones, son volt, septic death, the smiths, old 97s, joy division, melt banana, lil capn travis, neil diamond, flaming lips, g.i.s.m., cockney rejects, loretta lynn, husker du, john zorn, half japanese, animal farm, john coltrane, merzbow, beach boys, whiskeytown basically country rock punk jazz experimental pop new wave no wave gospel brass acapella thrash metal acoustic musette folk french american english japanese electric or whatever also i currently have 13 versions of the song wichita lineman and 9 versions of wreck of the old 97 on itunes. just thought id let you know.
  • Movies

i like all kinds of movies from "low brow" to "high brow" whatever that really means. my biggest annoyance is the recent trend of movies like scary movie and the ones that followed where its just cobbled together "parodies" of scenes from other movies. these movies are not good just familiar. otherwise i have found im not a big fan of david lynch and movies that are weird for the sake of weird and horror movies that substitute shock and strtling in the place of scary. im apparently the only person who thought the ring was horrible.
  • Television

im less addicted to anything new right now, just started on six feet under on dvd, and reruns of simpsons king of the hill family guy sometimes. various other stuff but nothing major. i could stop watching TV but not in that condescending im better than you way that some people who dont watch TV can be (not that ALL these folks are like that)
  • Books

i tend to read books either related to punk rock or religion and biographies as well...but not limited to these, im ok wth fiction stuff even though i havent read many lately aaron cometbus, thich nhat hahn, edward abbey, brad warner, noah levine, john shelby spong, kurt vonnegut(been a long time), george orwell(years for this as well) dainin katagiri, shunryu suzuki, henry david thoreau... my books to read in the future lists includes stuff by ammon hennacy, dorothy day, thomas merton, ernest free mann I also dig books on art and photography and such...
  • Heroes

maybe inspiration is a little better term for some of these than heroes... *my parents-for raising a family with little so that by the time i was around i didnt even know. thank you unions as well for this. *my wife-for putting up with me and being there for me. *my grandma and grandpa maxwell rest in peace. *my friends bobby and ronda for being amazing people, raising up kids "normally" without being "traditional" people. as far as people I dont know... Jesus (not the one full of hate that certain fundamentalists like to talk about, who is that?) Buddha, U Utah Phillips, Thich Nhat Hahn, Gandhi, John Shelby Spong, Ammon Hennacy, Judi Bari, Edward Abbey, Biscuit Turner, Martin Luther King Jr., Woody Guthrie, ... *theres so many-in religion anyone who speaks up against the hatred prevalent in the Church today and stands for the message of love and unity that is the truth in the world, as well as those willing to look for the connections between different faiths that are all leading on different paths t the same goal...in general the Quakers are pretty cool even though theres been some bad seed out of em like richard nixon.. *people that stand up against accepted practices in society that grind us down while offering solutions to lift us back up. Im not saying that there is a set of standards here because i wouldn't be up to them anyways, but there is plenty of inspiration to go around. here is a quote from Tony Campolo that i read from the book If Grace Is True by quakers Phillip Gulley andJames Mulholland "The United Nations reports that over ten thousand people starve to death each day, and most of you don't give a shit. However, what is even more tragic is that most of you are more concerned about the fact that I just said a bad word than you are about the fact that ten thousand people are going to die today."
