  • Bio

Musician and lyricist, Cleaven R. Creech pka Mr. Creech has been honing his skills and steering his musical career since he was a teen. The fruits of his journeys have been many. Most recently, the release of his first solo CD/Digital release "Motownic Frequency" the explosive and uncompromising avant-rap release sees Mr. Creech at his most urban and dare we say most commercial. Having begun his career in his birthplace Detroit as part of rap duo "Soul2Eclipse" in 1999, released an album, promoted and toured heavily, lived in Detroit, Ypsilanti, Atlanta, and later LA. Yet after some time the duo split up. His 2nd musical project was Detroit Mutant Radio, a group of musicians that Creech formed and traveled to LA with the band in 2003. Working with 11 time Grammy producer, Rafa Sardina, they crafted an album and were courted heavily by Interscope Records but did not proceed with the deal. As Detroit beckoned him so did his art and now he is pushing forward once more in Atlanta, reviving his sound of Detroit Mutant Radio. Mr. Creech's influence range from rap and r&b staples: Run DMC, Public Enemy, Tribe Called Quest, Ice Cube, Big Daddy Kane, Andre 3000, Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Motown, Stax.. to such musical diversities as: Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, Rage Against The Machine. These sounds and others culminate in Mr. Creech to create a unique sound at times sounding as slick as any pop rap single other times mixing funk, soul, & rock into a clear futuristic vision. Creech explains "While not being afraid of evolving sounds and mixing genres, I look at music and life from historical standpoints, there always is a root to where something began. Understanding this root can help you identify with how the outcome can grow." While in Detroit Creech has rocked the old Latin Quarters, Belle Isle, Cobo Hall, Club Med, I-Rock, Token Lounge, Plush Lounge, U of M Union, Half Ass Basement, Touchdown Cafe, Blind Pig, Rosie O Gradys, the Ritz, plenty of schools from east to the Westside. Then in LA he's performed at the Key Club, Whisky-a-Go-Go, Viper Room, the Joint, House of Blues, Monroes, Hard Rock Cafe (City Walk), the Knitting Factory, the Derby, Westwood Brew Co. (UCLA), CSUN, Molly Malones, the Dragon Fly, Club Good Hurt, Harmony Sweet Cafe. He's shared stages with Digital Underground at LA House of Blues, Black Sheep at the Derby, and Bizzy Bone in Detroit. Creech fully realizes his unique inner star, a born performer who simultaneously evokes Chuck D and Cat Stevens, Big Daddy Kane and Billy Joel. With an arresting debut album on the streets, airplay, and a snowballing live rep, Mr. Creech is set to reap the rewards of his skills, dedication and sacrifice. ...... .................. ........ .. .. ........................------------------------------.................... ..$8.00 US....
