The Sword is an American heavy metal rock n' roll band that was formed in Austin, Texas in 2003 and has existed in its current form since early 2004. Their first album, Age of Winters, was released on Kemado Records in 2006, followed by a second full-length in 2008 titled Gods of the Earth. Since then they've toured extensively, both as a headliner and support for the likes of Clutch, Motörhead, Ozzy Osbourne, and Metallica. The band's third album, Warp Riders, was released by Kemado on August 24, 2010. The band's fourth studio album, Apocryphon, will be released October 22, 2012 on Razor & Tie.
