Vilda (Mahealani) 'Islandgirl' God is Good...God is LOVE...ALOHA KE AKUA! Posted at 5:42 AM May 24, 2008 view more
Hi there...ALOOOOOOHA.....Great to meet you...
My name is Vilda, 'Mahealani' in Hawaiian, and I am a woman who's trying to survive in this fast changing world...with my only tools I was given at my birth: LOVE and COMPASSION for everyone I meet...following my path of life...
By the way, in the family picture, I am the biggest one in ego but the smallest one in height!
I am married since May 29, 1987 to a wonderful man called Paul who has the patience to keep up with me...even since some years I'm diagnosed to have a BPS (Borderline Personality Disorder)...but oh well...who's perfect???
Out of our marriage I'm awfully proud to be the Mom of two wonderful children named Maile(1990) and Joel (1988) but searching and finding their own special way in life.
I was born on the islands of Indonesia, in the place called Jakarta, but now living in Holland (The Netherlands)since I came here in 1958 with my family.
My dearest Dad was a real good singer with the Real Aloha Spirit, who is known as BILL TOMA, and he was the lead singer of the 'Royal Hawaiian Minstrels' of the great steelguitar player George de Fretes. My dad has the warmest voice ever (often compared with his own favorite singer Alfred Apaka!) and when we were on the islands he (and I, but just in a little modest way) sang with uncle Bill Lincoln, Auntie Pauline Kekahuna, Leilani Mendez and Violet Lilikoi and my father even sang with Danny Kaleikini on his show with Jerry Byrd on the steelguitar...a dream came true...
I really am proud to be the daughter of such a great singer and I always will try to share the Warm Love and the Real Spirit of Aloha all over the world...
(My Hawaiian name Mahealani was given to me by uncle Howard K. Morris. I'm a singer myself in a very modest way and my favorite kind of songs to sing are the Hawaiian hulas like auntie Genoa, so she is my greatest inspiration...)
Who I'd like to meet: ...people...all over the world...young...old...funny...
serious...just to share things that we may have in common... or exchange stories or the love for music or countries...
I love all kind of cultures but my love mostly goes to the countries of Hawaii and other Polynesian islands and of course Indonesia and most of all the Moluccans.
But I'm also fond of the US and Canada, or Europe (espec. Spain, England, Ireland, Scotland), South America (espec. Brasil), Israel, Egypt, Japan, China, well...in fact there isn't a country that doesn't have my interest....
So anyone living her on our beautiful planet is invited to contact me...
Feel free and hope to see you soon!
