  • Well meaning intentions to Direct Action

There's a lot that I would like to do, because I am capable of doing it or getting it done through the help of other people.

Goals are realistic feasible objectives that are designed to show progress and evolution.

Present goal for today, remember my own definition of a goal.

    Begger in front of McDonalds

This evening I attended a Charity Pancake Dinner at Central Michigan University hosted by Sigma Alpha Epsilon.  Flyer's for the post read "$5 All you can eat pancakes, with all proceeds going to Ronald McDonald Charity."

I went with a CMU Alumnus who is a Sorority Sister member (Sigma Sigma Sigma) Sigma Alpha Epsilon.  Four other coops joined as well.  We hoped in our cars and ventured 30 miles to Mt Pleasent, MI; I trailed behind simply by a slight misunderstanding.

Arriving after the first car, my fellow coop and I entered the "Leadership Institute of CMU".  Seated next to two open double doors were two tables. Each table was clothed in a blue table top with Sigma Alpha Epsilon patched before two fraternaty brothers.

Standing before the fraternal pair, the four of us exchanged greetings.  Reaching for my wallet to pay the advertised $5, the khakis sweat shirt, brown glasses wearing, blading with curly hair frat boy said "SIX dollars".  Stopping in my tracks and piercing his eyes with mine I said, "I heard that a plate was FIVE dollars."  Curly looked away and replied "That's if you bought a ticket from a SigmaAE brother".  Looking upon the table, no tickets were present.  The next frat boy turned away and busied himself with a magazine.  My friend started to pull his wallet out and pay the amount saying "That's fine".

Mentally, I flowed through the next few paragraphs in seconds and made my decision as follows:

What is a dollar, really?  By the numbers it is just 4 minutes 33.5 seconds of my time at work.  It is only 11.1 miles traveling in my car.  One bean burrito at Taco Bell.  A dollar is a dollar is a dollar.

I know this scam, I thought.  Ah, YES! I tried this scam back when I was 16 at Splashtown.  Thanks be to God that I was discovered and reprimanded, for I learned the value of an Honest Income.

God dewelled in me long enough to remind me of His Son's openness and foregivness towards those who do wrong.  Give without expecting to be repaid.  Give all that you can, fore your source is from God and will Always be secure.

Next, I recalled a non-religious saying goes like this:

You expect me to bend & twist my words into lies because you are SO good that I am ASHAMED to speak the TRUTH to you?  Oh please, you are not dealing with that kind of MAN!  You are dealing with man who SAYS what he BELIEVES and BELIEVES what he SAYS!

From there, I imagined that the like aged frat boy must think that I am SO good and well secure in my income that he must hide the truth from me and weasel a dollar from someone he believes is superior just to say "Ha, look how I fooled those two!  With two dollars between you and I, we each have one dollar!  Those two are dunces!"

I will not miss that dollar, because I trust God & Jesus to lead me to skills and opportunities that will allow me to provide and maintain substanance for myself, for my family and for all God wills of me.

I meant to cover two more topics, but time has left me.  Here is a title list: Autozone Liberty Bowl Game in Memphis!!! & Thoughts and Opinions about work with present work group in Michigan.

As always, please forgive my misspellings and call to my attention when these stories lose their line of thought.

    Respectfully & Always,

    Chris
