Nellie Bly, the first female undercover reporter. From the beginning, Bly's favorite stories focused on helping the less fortunate. She did the kind of investigative reporting that was new to newspapers at the time. Bly was one of its pioneers. Nellie Bly: Today, few Americans recognize that name. But 100 years ago, you would have been hard-pressed to find any American who did not. She burst upon the scene at a time when a woman's place was, in the words of one newspaper editor, "defined and located by a single word — home." But Bly's "push-and-get-there" style helped to change the way reporters did their jobs.

About me:
..Profile modified by:The CricketSoda Myspace Profile Editor Portfolio and Misc. (Above): South Pacific: Spending 5 months traveling could not have been a better experience. I left the US in August and traveled to New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. I spent most of my time in Thailand, living on a small island called Koh Tao. The rest of my weeks were spent with the hill tribes of Thailand and Vietnam, climbing among the ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, exploring the street of Sydney, and driving the winding roads of the south island of New Zealand. The first album above is comprised of some of my images from Southeast Asia (Thailand and Vietnam). Many are of the Hill Tribe communities and others are images of market life or city living. The second album is primarily images from my trek through Egypt (January-February 2006). Mixed in are some I had taken during the University of Florida's NCAA Campionship season along with a few portraits. This is my life and I love every minute of it.Who I'd like to meet:
Ansel Adams: "Some photographers take reality and impose the domination of their own thought and spirit. Others come before reality more tenderly and a photograph to them is an instrument of love and revelation." The photographs of Ansel Adams still inspire people today. In my opinion, when a photographer can still grab ahold and inspire someone in the wake of their passing, that is the ultimate measure of a true artist.Leonardo DaVinci: "I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death." DaVinci was a genius in more ways than one, someone who changed the world with his outlook and philosophies on life.
