When Alex Foster (vocals), Jeff Beaulieu (guitar), Sef (guitar), Ben Lemelin (bass), Miss Isabel (vocals and keys) and Charles Moose Allicy (drums) got together to form Your Favorite Enemies in 2006, they decided to manage every single aspect of the band's career based on their community values and their "do it yourself" attitude. Already known for the their commitment towards human rights, Foster being a fervent spokesperson for Amnesty International and a passionate youth speaker, Your Favorite Enemies' distinctive blend of dirty and polished types of melodic textures and their introspective and empowering lyrics instantaneously attracted musical fanatics from all over the world, who organically and spontaneously turned their passion for the band into an incredible multitude of street teams, communities, fan sites and forums emerging in every major city on the planet.
Therefore, inspired by such astounding support and submerged by an impressive number of requests to buy the nowhere to be found music of Your Favorite Enemies, the 6 musicians took the decision to create the label Hopeful Tragedy Records in April 2007 in order to offer the self-produced 5 songs EP and fan exclusive "And If I Was To Die In the Morning… Would I Still Be Sleeping With You", released on June 1st, for only $10 worldwide, shipping included. However, facing a strong reluctance and a major lack of support from the band's former advisers, who doubted that any potential success would come out of such an audacious operation, the musicians kept their vision of honoring their fans' faithfulness with a ridiculously low and worldly standardized cost for anyone willing to purchase their EP from Montreal to Tokyo.
Since many people were expecting a monumental flop and a pretty hurtful move for the band's career, the decision to create a record label in order to sell their EP via their own online store, turned out to be the determinant breaking point for Your Favorite Enemies. The Montreal musicians ended 2007 with more than 30 thousand sold copies of their EP, a first European promotional headlining tour, a meet and greet with the Japanese community members in Tokyo, an unbelievable coverage by major international medias and the creation of Hopeful Tragedy Records' multi-media branch dedicated to developing new web initiatives and producing their successful weekly podcast shows on "YFE-TV"; different elements turning Your Favorite Enemies into one of the most exciting new "Do It Yourself" bands to emerge from the non-traditional music model.
Needless to say that, if 2007 is a good indication of what the future has in store for Your Favorite Enemies, the upcoming year should be an undoubtedly interesting one for the 6 musicians from Montreal, who have just been called one of the top 5 bands to watch out for in 2008 by Billboard Magazine, setting the pace for their most awaited new album due out in late Spring… on Hopeful Tragedy Records.

that is so great to hear that i briten your day and you saw an amazing show the other day. but i havent heard of them yet but ill make sure to check them out. things are going good here just relaxing trying to enjoy my weekend before another hard week of work. the job isnt so bad its just working in heat all day and geting up early. last week i was home by myself my family just got back from vacation yesterday, and i only have to work 3 days because of indapencence day next weekend. its just been realy hot and tyring this past week im just happy its short ill finaly get to see my dogs again this weekend and i get my first pay check soon because ive got alot of shows comming up to see jully 11th and 24th.

thank you im glad you love my poem and you think the same way. my unckle also realy likes the hippy way and thinks kinda the same. i will defenitly check out the band and poem. and im always writeing im constently geting an idea either from my own mind and life or from something i see or hear from a band or something. the reason why my desplay name is that is because of the band eyes set to kill i just got the new cd a few weeks ago and in my despaly name ill usaly have a song title or the bands name after my name if their realy good just to give them more help support and recunition. i never stop geting away from music or support artist and helping out in some way.
im so happy to hear all done with school and can finaly enjoy the wonderful wheather and your summer. ive been off for about a week and a half and last monday was my first week of work im working at a golf course monday through friday for 4 hours. ive written many poems since last time we talked and just wrote 2 more yesterday. ones called justice is blind.
slam the gavel down stenced to death with no proboble cause. the scars forever burned in my skin, no one will ever let me win. its do un to those that arnt like the rest. you cant see behined whats infront of you. your blinded by all the lies. you want peace but only if its your way. the world is changing but the morals are not. i am here to take a stand but youve destroyed who i was now ill never be like you. you brain wash the nation all exept a few who despise you. it will never be the way you want it we wont let it we will die for it. you cant kill us. we will go through hell and back. we sware to fucking god. ha like their is a god no hope no savior for us. if their was justice would be served. i hope you like it. its about how everyone says their here to help and will fight for justice but if your not like the rest of the nation or world they just pass you by and dont care. it has alot to do with what i go through either with my family or in my life. and takes me back to how in the 80s any metal head with long hair and wasnt like the normal corprit amarica they didnt care always tried to take us down and used us as a target but never wins. so in relaity justice is blind and thats also why alot of metal heads like me are confused about religon i dont bealive because of all thats happend and countinuse to happen today.

Jajj, annyira hiányoltalak mááár :) Tudod, 2 hétig nem tudtam netezni, mert jöttek a festők, és kifestették újra a házat, lefestették az ajtókat, ablakokat, és ma már hazamentek. Múlt héten hétfőn jöttek, úgyh képzelheted, micsoda felfordulás volt itt, de megérte, mert most már nagyon szépek vagyunk. Nem mellesleg, a srácokkal jól elszórakoztam (nagyon idióták voltak, de jó értelemben. Mindig mindenről csak a szex jutott eszükbe, de tényleg nagyon jókat hülyültünk, néha már túl jókat is :D ). Milyen vizsgád lesz? Jaja, lázasan készülök a szóbelire, és képzeld, 3-as lett a matekooooom :) nagyon boldog voltam, amikor megtudtam, mert én arra számítottam, h kettes lesz :) jah, meg a föcit is rendesen elcsesztem, azt hittem, megbukok, erre az is 3-as lett, és a szóbelivel még felhozhatom akár 4-esre is. Remélem is,h élvezni fogom azt, ahova felvesznek, bár sztem az ELTE-re nem sok esélyem van, mert nagyon magasak a pontszámok, úgyh sztem csak Egerbe jutok csak be, de mindegy, majd vhogy szakot akarok váltani, mert anglisztikás végzettséggel sztem semmire sem megyek majd. Nah, majd minden kiderül. Jah, de ha felvennénel Pestre, akkor valóban talizni kéne egyszer, de ha nem, akkor is, mit szólsz hozzá? Ha addig nem beszélnénk, akkor sok sikert a vizsgáidhoz, te is higgy magadban, és akkor menni fog ;) Aztán majd kérek beszámolót, h h ment,oks? ;) Addig is puszi és vigyázz magadra!
