About me: Influenced by the inner city landscape, this urban contemporary art movement identifies emerging, mid-career and professional artists working in a variety of mediums who represent work that is innovative, cutting-edge, experimental, exploratory, and multi-dimensional.
Who I'd like to meet:
Friends,
Contrary to what people might be thinking (or saying), 32nd&urban is not gone. Although we no longer inhabit our physical space in Bridgeport, we are very much HERE.
We have taken some much needed time off to re-flect, re-think, and re-energize. If you are not on our mailing list, you might want to get on that. Some news will be coming out within the coming weeks.
32nd&urban is currently gearing up for 2 group shows this year. Trying to highlight new talent and bringing back some of our favorites. If interested, send us an e-mail with 2-4 images of your work. DO NOT SEND ANYTHING VIA REGULAR MAIL. As always, shoot us questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Stay Up Chi...we are watching you....

Benjamin Franklin House 36 Craven Street London WC2N 5NF
Following on from their sell out shows at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, The Red Velvet Curtain Cult shall inhabit and haunt the BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HOUSE with site specific art, performance, film, oddities and happenings from 13 artists. Set in a Georgian house where layers of history unravel from behind panelled walls and deep-set fireplaces whisper ashes of deeds past, the artists will engage with and draw inspiration from the history of the space, including its most famous inhabitant Benjamin Franklin, he of keys and kites….
Expect spinning tops, glass armonicas, trepanning games, story telling, ceremonial mythologies, muffled whisperings, cyclical wanderings, all serenaded by the sound of a haunting electric cello…
