InfluencesThe inspiration for this project came from science, sci-fi and music. Science writers like Richard Dawkins and Matt Ridley, ‘New Scientist’ magazine. Serious sci-fi writers like Arthur C Clarke, Stephen Baxter, Ben Bova and Greg Bear, and the man who showed us planet Earth, the great David Attenborough. Difficult to know where to start with the musical influences. Miles Davis, Frank Zappa, Ennio Morricone, Squarepusher, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Gong, Lee Perry, Jaco Pastorius, Steve Khan, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, Primus, Baaba Maal, Michael Nyman, Steve Reich ….and many other great artists across the whole range of musical styles that have been the soundtrack to the 20/21st century.
Sounds LikeSci-fi electronica. Chilled out beats with jazz and world music influences.

   About Zebidee
Planet Zebidee is the soundtrack to an alien planet. Fictional, but based on real and exciting discoveries that have been made in recent years. The first planet outside our solar system was discovered in 1996. We have now discovered several hundred. Someday soon it may be possible to detect the chemical signatures of life on one of them. I've always been fascinated by science, especially biology and cosmology – and a big fan of science fiction writers who write with real scientific understanding (as opposed to the majority of ‘sci-fi’ which is better described as fantasy). The great thing about understanding the universe (or trying to) is that the ‘truth’ that really is out there is far stranger and more wonderful than any fiction. For my 'day job' I'm a bass player, but the electronica thing has taken over as my main creative outlet now. It's an exciting time to be making this music. You can buy the album on my site, www.zebidee.net. Also there is information on exo-planets and astrobiology. You can join the discussions on space travel, alien biology, music, and whatever else comes up in my forums. Hope to see you there.

Hi, really like "descent", great loops and rhythm. I love those Herbie-type chords with the pink floyd synth. that should go well with video games no?
take care

"I believe that there is no God… Having taken that step, it informs every moment of my life. I’m not greedy. I have love, blue skies, rainbows and Hallmark cards, and that has to be enough. It has to be enough, but it’s everything in the world and everything in the world is plenty for me. It seems just rude to beg the invisible for more… Believing there’s no God means I can’t really be forgiven except by kindness and faulty memories. That’s good; it makes me want to be more thoughtful. I have to try to treat people right the first time around… I don’t travel in circles where people say, 'I have faith, I believe this in my heart and nothing you can say or do can shake my faith.'"
