About me:

Imagine being at the stadium of your favorite sports team - packed to capacity with kids your age. By most estimates, the number of fans is just about equal to the number of young people who have been abducted since the start of the conflict in Uganda (estimated around 60,000). In addition, another 12,000 have been killed. In spite of its scale, this conflict has not yet been truly recognized by the global community. ChildVoice International wants to help give a voice to the Ugandan children who have been silenced by war, abduction, and slavery. However, we need your help.

ChildVoice International seeks to support children who have been severely affected by war and are in desperate need of aid and care on so many different levels. The organization is constructing a village in Northern Uganda to provide housing, education, and vocational training. In addition, parenting skills and early childhood education are offered to young mothers, many of whom became pregnant as victims of rape during the war. With all of these programs, ChildVoice International's intention is to reintegrate young people affected by war back into society.

In the United States, young people hold the potential to effect great change. It is in the hands of our generation to take a stand against these unrecognized injustices occurring in Northern Uganda. ChildVoice International has created a campaign for students in middle school, high school, and college to help our peers in Uganda. Students are encouraged to raise money and awareness from their schools and in their communities. ChildVoice has created fundraising goals for schools and as your school reaches these benchmarks, you will receive prizes from ChildVoice International to both honor your efforts and further help in your fundraising campaign.

It is time to stand up and speak out on behalf of these suffering children. By letting your voice be heard you will be breaking decades of silence that has enveloped a region in immense turmoil.
