About me:

I am the mother of 5 awesome children and I have been married for 25 years! I love to inspire and uplift people with my gift of music. I became famous in 2004 when I won Oprah's version of American Idol. Since I have traveled the country and world performing in Trinidad, London and Zimbabwe. I performed for President Obama a prestigous 7 times during his historical march to the White House. I am also a model having served as a spokewoman for Ashley Stewart Cothing Stores for 3 years. I am an actress and have performed in stage plays and appeared on The ABC drama "Detroit 187". I have appeared in magazines O. People, JET, Ebony, Essence, All Of You. television shows The Oprah Winfrey Show (5) times, Good Morning America, Soul Train, TBN, The 700 Club,, toured with Oprah, and shared the stage with actor Will Smith, Tom Arnold, personalities Dr Maya Angelou, Krisitina Yamoguchi, Katy Couric, Rachel Ray, Robin Roberts, performers Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J Blige, KEM, Anita Baker, Earth Wind & Fire, Hootie & The Blowfish, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Brian McKnight, Babyface, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Karen Clark Sheard, Vicki Winans, Donnie McKlurklin and many others! I will be releasing my 1st poem book this winter!
