Bio
With equal parts Orange County punk, honky tonk country, and rockabilly sensibilities, Reno Divorce strikes a unique chord of their own in a diluted genre of what passes as "Punk rock'n'roll". Throw in well-crafted and deftly executed songs that straddle the line between Smithereens and and Social Distortion, and you've got a band that truly stands out amongst the herd. Oh, and there's one more thing....this aint the boys' first rodeo...they've played with almost all their punk hereos (ALL, Social D, TSOL, Adolescents, Agent Orange, Shattered Faith, X, The Blasters, Motorhead), and shared a tour bus with more contemporary heavy hitters, ala U.S. Bombs, The Bones, and Street Dogs. They've worked with the cream of the crop behind the scenes, as well. Their last record, "Tears Before Breakfast" was produced by Jason Livermore at the world famous Blasting Room and the support tours for that album were handled by M.A.D. Booking in Europe, where among other great festivals, they graced the Saturday Night Fever Stage at With FUll Force. Always captivating live, and wrought with more hooks than your uncle Bob's tackle box, Reno Divorce has carved out a reputation as the real nitty gritty, a true "musician's band" that pushes the envelope with every release, without sounding contrived or formulated. Brent Loveday's adept songwriting and clever storytelling are brought to life by the bands expert musicianship. With Brent Loveday on lead guitar and vocals, Tim Jadowski on bass, Tye Battistella on Rhythm guitar, and Ruben Patino on drums the band fires on all cylinders. backed by a band that fires on all cylinders. Reno Divorce has earned honors in Kerrang, Metal Hammer, Loud Fast Rules, and (more importantly to the band) the respect of their peers. .. .. ..Fact Sheet:.. .. .. - Originally based in Orlando, Florida from 1996-1998. Sounds Like
.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... .. .. Reno Divorce .. ..Tears Before Breakfast.. .. I Scream Records .. 5 Stars.. .. .. For those fans waiting patiently for the next Social Distortion album (slated to be recorded sometime at the end of this year or in early 2010) the wait might be made easier with the release of Reno Divorce's third full-length album, Tears Before Breakfast. While their sound isn't exactly the same, many of the same strong elements can be found in Reno Divorce's songs, and those aren't bad footsteps to follow. The sound is decidedly punk rock with that same slightly sunny West Coast feel but with a heavier dose of country influenced punk. The songs are well-written, emotional without being sappy and don't get so caught up in one cliché after another that they become rote and dull. The album is packed with fun, high-energy songs that show enough variety to catch a listener's interest and, more importantly, keep it. .. .. Not a band to waste a minute, "Supercharger" is exactly that. The song is high energy and has a good rock sound to get things going. The opening guitar work sets the tone for the rest of the song and vocalist Brent Loveday's gravelly voice fits the overall sound perfectly. "Firecracker" displays some more strong instrumental abilities with fast guitar melodies and strong, blindingly quick drumming by Andrew Erich. .. .. "All Show, No Go" initially sounds like it's a continuation of "Firecracker" but after one gets through the very brief intro, the song shifts into a clearly different sound. While the band maintains their overall approach, this is one of the first songs that some of the aforementioned country sound comes creeping in and the track may remind some of the country cover album by Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. Things shift again ever so slightly with a more sentimental song, "True Love." Should one think that the title means this is just another sappy love song, lines like "Well, I'll keep on buying you roses, and opening doors for you, even though you're not around to accept them or to walk through," sung in Loveday's signature gritty voice make it a clear step from the typical. .. .. "Can't Win For Losin'" maintains that country sound first displayed in "All Show, No Go" and takes it even further with tight harmonies on the chorus, some country-inspired guitar riffs and even some of the same topics as often found in such songs. However, where this song may pull in those that typically don't like country or country-influenced music is because it still manages to maintain enough of the punk rock approach to keep a variety of people happy. The pace is still incredibly fast, the lyrics are occasionally raunchy and the drumming is definitely a step away from radio-friendly country. .. .. Tears Before Breakfast may show strong connections to previous punk bands, but in a time where music is increasingly becoming something punched out by a machine on an assembly line, it's refreshing to hear something different. Reno Divorce has a fun sound with enough edge to keep it interesting. This is definitely an album worth picking up and trying out. –EVELYN MISKA .. .. ...... .. .. ..Get Reno Divorce music here:.. .. .. .. ........ ............... .......... .. .. ........ ............... .......... .. .. ........ ............... .......... .. ...... .. .. ..Reno Divorce gets tattooed by:.. .. .. ...... .. .. About The Band
Bio:
With equal parts of Orange County punk rock, honky tonk country, and rockabilly swagger, Reno Divorce strikes a unique chord of their own with their brand of “Punk Rock’n’Roll”. The band’s longevity is proof positive that paying dues is the only way to the top. The well-crafted and deftly executed songs that straddle the line between Smithereens and Social Distortion are the bread and butter for these guys, and one listen is all it takes to realize you’ve got a band that truly stands out amongst the herd. Oh, and there’s one more thing...this aint the boys’ first rodeo... going 10 years strong and gracing some of the most legendary bars and stages around the world, they’ve played with almost all their punk heroes (ALL, Social Distortion, TSOL, Adolescents, Agent Orange,The Queers , X, The Blasters, Motorhead), and shared a tour bus with more contemporary heavy hitters, a la U.S. Bombs, The Bones, and Street Dogs. They’ve worked with the cream of the crop behind the scenes, as well. Their forthcoming record, “Lover’s Leap” was recorded by Blasting Room alumnus Felipe Patino and mixed and mastered at the legendary studio, as well, by Andrew Berlin and Jason Livermore (Rise Against, ALL, Descendents) respectively. The record before that, “Tears Before Breakfast," received similar treatment, too. “Quality over quantity” is their mantra, and their four full-length releases attest to that. There’s no filler here. Instead, the boys find a way to up the ante with every record, growing musically with each outing without trading in their punk rock roots for the latest fad. Remember, these guys have to shave every morning, and bandwagon-jumping is one thing they’ll never be accused of. With their European tours being handled by M.A.D. Booking in Europe, their following continues to grow with each trip and makes their next appearance anticipated. Among the many great festivals they’ve played, like “With Full Force”, "Speedfest", and “The Rock-n-Ink Fest," Reno Divorce has shown fans that they are just as at home on a massive stage as in a seedy, smokey dive. Always captivating live, and wrought with more hooks than your Uncle Bob’s tackle box, Reno Divorce has carved out a reputation as the real nitty-gritty, a true “musician’s band” that pushes the envelope with every release, without sounding contrived or formulated. Brent Loveday’s deft songwriting and clever storytelling are brought to life by the bands expert musicianship. With Loveday on lead guitar and vocals, Tim Jadowski on bass, Tye Battistella on rhythm guitar and Ruben Patino on the drums, the band fires on all cylinders and spares no one in their way.Like Us!!!!! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Reno-Divorce/81267738038?sk=info
