Transcenders are the episodic composers for the CW's hit series "GOSSIP GIRL", and have just started work on the music for season 2. They recently composed the score for the movie "COLLEGE" with Drake Bell (in theaters August 29th), and "CROSS BRONX" (currently on The Movie Channel), and they composed additional score music for Universal Pictures blockbuster "THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN". Transcenders have written songs for "SUPERBAD", "FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL", "HAROLD & KUMAR Escape From Guantanamo Bay", "KNOCKED UP", "I THINK I LOVE MY WIFE", "GARFIELD 2", "ATL" and "JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE". They are the proud recipients of 2005 BMI Composer Awards for their composing work on NBC's sitcom "Joey", a Grammy nomination for their songwriting collaboration, "Lets Get It Started", with the Black Eyed Peas, and a 2005 BMI Songwriting Award for "Where Is The Love", also written with Black Eyed Peas.

Transcenders story starts back in 1995. As founding members of one of musics most creative and unique groups, the Black Eyed Peas, Terence Yoshiaki, Brian Lapin and Mike Fratantuno helped to define a groundbreaking sound and vision for the multi-platinum selling recording artists. By fusing a live band into hip-hop before it was the accepted norm, the bands raw sound and high-energy shows marked the arrival of a new alternative hip-hop style. In addition to years of touring with the Black Eyed Peas (BEP), the three made their mark as songwriters. Brian co-wrote BEPs first single "Joints & Jam" in 1998. Mike co-wrote both the 2001 MTV favorite "Request Line" featuring Macy Gray, and the 1 hit "Where Is The Love" featuring Justin Timberlake. Mike and Terence also co-wrote the Grammy-winning Top 10 hit single "Lets Get It Started" with BEP, which earned them both 2004 Grammy nominations in the category of Best Rap Song. "Lets Get It Started" was also nominated for Record Of The Year.

In 2002 Brian, Terence and Mike began collaborating on various film and TV projects under the name Transcenders, including the score for "Cross Bronx" which won an award at the Tribeca Film Festival. They have been making strides in the world of composing for film and television ever since.
