Hello My Friends: Loretta, here. Just flew in from New York and boy are my arms tired (ba dee boom).
I had an amazing time in the Big Apple. The powers that BE said our Saturday afternoon performance at the New York Historical Society had been the best that they HAD EVER HAD!!! There is talk of us returning in November, so I'll keep you posted. Many of you will remember or have heard me talk about my mentor JULIUS JOHNSEN. I took the old black tattered TOP HAT that JULIUS had given to me and before my last song I told the audience "one of the last things my mentor JULIUS JOHNSEN said to me was " Loretta, go to New York.... New York needs you." I snap the top hat and said, "JULIUS, I made it to New York"...... laid the top hat on the stage and closed the show singing New York, New York. It was a special, special moment for all.

Anyway, LENNY BABBISH, (PUDGY's) pianist came to our performance at the New York Historical Society and he just sent me this E-mail. I wanted to share it with you and all who remember PUDGY. I am humbled. Read on. Loretta

Well, I was lucky enough to see Loretta perform in NY with a 9 piece band at the Historical Society (the previous night she sang at Lincoln Center) over the weekend - I'm sorry you all weren't with me. She sounded better than ever - those incredible pipes stronger than ever, engaging the audience... it was bittersweet to think that 20 years ago (maybe more, yikes!!) we were able to enjoy Loretta on a regular basis at the casinos. The only thing missing from Loretta's ovations was hearing Pudgy screaming "NO MORE... NO MORE..." I have to point out that Loretta sort of caught me off guard by looking better than I even remember... as if she wasn't stunning then! To invoke Pudgy again: "What is she drinking?? Oil of Olay on the rocks? Let's gang slap her".

Anyway, I had a great time, although it was over too quickly. Loretta is off t

My lovely "soul sister" Belinda Foster out did herself and frankly she "out did" ANYONE world wide who has ever taken pen to paper to write about me. I am humbled beyond words by Belinda's magic and sheer poetic genius of her feature article in April's editon of Industry Magazine. My gratitude and love for her love of music and the entertainmenter she features is again, humbling. You have a wonderful writer and caring lady writing for you. I know you appreciate her exceptional talent and love for what she does for our Upstate music industry. I'm still in AWE. LORETTA HOLLOWAY.
