Gift economic models--the more patrons and volunteers contribute to AccessCafe, the more everybody benefits. Plant-based consumption--extending equal consideration of interest to other animals and also the environment. Forging direct access to farmers and urban food sources--whenever possible, salvage/free-source/buy seasonal food within a 200 mile radius.Heroes

About me:
AccessCafe is an all-volunteer, nomadic restaurant that serves food on a donation-basis. We aspire to make healthy food and social space accessible to all. This is community supported dining. Our goal is community outreach — to cultivate connections between the diverse populations that live within San Francisco’s Mission District. Further, AccessCafe aims to educate populations about affordable, nutritious, plant-based food. We seek to bolster wellness in people, relationships and communities by creating an atmosphere of nourishment, sharing and trust.
We offer community members the opportunity to prepare and facilitate AccessCafe. We need people to organize. We need people to food prep and set-up the space the day before the event. We need people to come to our volunteer potluck (hosted the Wednesday night before our Sunday event) and sign up for a volunteer position. Volunteer positions include serving, dishwashing, bussing, expediting, plate presentation, cooking. These are examples of non-monetary contributions. For those who wish to offer payment, AccessCafe does not have fixed menu prices. Instead, patrons pay what they believe the dining experience was worth. Larger contributions will help cover smaller contributions.

Fun times... take a look!
This Sunday, the Design Party that rocks the Mission moves to Potrero Hill & Thee Parkside for a Street Festival! Bringing you over 70 vendors inside and outside, offering everything from locally made tees, vintage, handmade, quirky antiques, cupcakes, one of a kind, unique gear for men, women & the lil’ ones and more. Throw in amazing BBQ food all day long, stiff drinks, cheap beers, music by Drunk Dial DJ’s and a live performance by the Lovely Eggs at 3pm, ping pong, water balloon launchers and all kinds of good stuff. Spare the air & take the 22 Fillmore bus right there or ride your bike! Plenty of parking as well. Bring your friends, come on out and shop, drink, hang out and eat. As well Thee Parkside’s Twang Sunday will be going on in the evening.
