    I love random independent films. And cult classics. And horror movies. Both the good ones and the really bad ones.

    LOST, Heroes, Scrubs, Project Runway (for my girly side), and other random stuff we DVR.

  • Books

    I'm the kind of girl that loves the smell of a new book. I love just about anything by Stephen King. I love all the Harry Potter books and have read them multiple times. I also have the tendency to like most of the books on high school required reading lists, such as Brave New World, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Of Mice and Men, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, etc... My favorite book of all time is The Princess Bride by William Goldman. I also enjoy a good "chick lit" book every now and then.

  • Heroes

    Jesus Christ, who first loved me. My parents, without whom the life I have today would not be possible. My brother, who gives me hope for today's youth. My husband, whose drive to succeed inspires me daily. Stephen King, William Goldman, and J.K. Rowling, whose writing I love, respect, and aspire to emulate. Clay Young, who taught me not only what journalism is all about, but the importance of integrity and honesty in the newsroom.

About me:

I have an amazing husband who treats me like a princess. We have the cutest puppies in the world, Sadie, an Australian Shepherd mix, and Jammy, a yellow lab.

I'm originally from Mobile, AL, where my family lives. I moved to Dallas in the summer of 2006.

I run a lot of races, but I never expect to win. I think my favorite length is the half marathon, because you run long enough to feel accomplished but not long enough to feel like you're going to die. During the summer we bike, swim, kayak and do indoor rock climbing. During the spring and fall, we like to do races, including marathons, half marathons, and adventure races. We're now doing a lot of Crossfit. I'm not truly happy unless I break a sweat at least 5 times a week.

I started my own jewelry business, which you can find online at www.enduringsimplicity.com. Making jewelry has been a fun creative outlet for me.
