About me:
I grew up in eastern Washington- mostly Cheney. I graduated from Cheney High and EWU. After that, I headed to the midwest to do grad school. I got my Ph.D. in immunology in 2005. I found that I really enjoyed teaching, so I stayed at the University of Iowa to develop a teaching post-doc program and work with the graduate college to develop a college teaching certificate. I know it sounds boring, but it was pretty cool. While there, my job involved playing with radioactivity and infectious organisms. Jealous? I didn't think so. It really wasn't too bad, though.
In July of 2006 things in my post-doc took an icky turn. It is a long story, but the end result is that I left my position there and took a job as a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Bio department at Knox College in IL.
I moved to Baltimore, MD in July 2007 to start as an assistant professor at Loyola college. The bio department here is great! It has been a lot of fun.
So the picture is of me and my dog, Buddy. He's a great pup. He's 3 years old now. The pound's website said "Thinks he's the center of the universe"... I didn't realize how serious they were.
That's it for now...
