Bio
Renegade is a rock band that formed in the summer of 1976 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. We played various venues all over the East Coast and Canada. We performed with artists such as Johnny Winter, James Montgomery, Cheap Trick and The Cars as well as being one of the top headlining bands of the day. All of Renegade's music is original copyrighted songs with the exception of "You keep me hanging on" and "The phlegm that ate Chicago". We disbanded in late 1983... Renegade started originally as a 6 piece band with guitar, bass, keys, drums and vocals. My name is Joe Baldi and I was originally hired as the sound engineer after the band had shrunk from 6 to 5 piece but quickly moved to the stage to assume bass guitar and vocal duties within the first year. At the same time original bassist Bruce Bissell took over the sound board. His lovely wife Joy was the lighting engineer so we had the only husband/wife team on the road!..After 3 years keyboardist Charlie Hawthorne left to eventually form his own band 8084. Sadly he was killed in a car accident on Christmas Eve, 1989 returning home from a gig. After trying 2 other keyboard players the band decided to drop the keys and go 4 piece until late 1981. ..Paul "The Great" Harrington (yes, the wall in China is named after him) left in 1981 and we again tried to replace a key figure to no avail, so Joe Castle (guitar) and I decided to take on all of the lead vocal duties. Pete McCusker also sang and we went forward as a 3 piece unit. .. RENEGADE was one of the most popular bands on the East Coast commanding huge audiences and garnered a dedicated following. This page is just a small indication of what we were about. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ............ .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... ..Free Myspace Layouts.. by MyspaceLayoutSpy.com.. ..Black Myspace Layouts.. in ..plain myspace layouts.. -
