They had been playing together as a band for almost two years and we are all students at Trinity High School. With an eclectic style and a burning ambition, there is no doubt That Mighty City has they desire to make your wildest dreams come true! .. .. How it all got started: In the winter of 2004, two kids started a band. Kyle Piercy on guitar, and Quinton Vanmeter on drums. For six months these guys messed around with writing songs and riffs on guitar and covering songs very casually. The summer before freshman year, a bassist, Stu Hammer, joined the band. The band was set this way for about four months, writing a couple originals. But the time came when they needed a singer. Quinton, volunteered to be the new singer, but drumming and being the lead singer was a problem. So Kyle and Quinton switched instruments! This was the band all the way through freshman year... .. By the end of freshman year in high school, Tipton Murphy joined to be the lead guitarist. And together, these four guys united as The Burgundys. Quinton became the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, and Tipton on lead. For another year or so these men wrote originals, and learned a dozen covers. By the end of sophomore year Quinton had left the band due to lack of interest, but The Burgundys still keep in touch with Quinton, and he is currently in a local band called, Stars and Satillites. Junior year at Trinity led the three remaining members on a chase to find the new lead singer. Eventually they found him. A guy with an amazing voice named Tracy Loeffler. He playing with the band for several months, gigging with them. But complications with practices left the rest of the band without a singer. Currently the three guys are in a rebuilding process and practicing with Tipton on lead vocals... .. The newest project includes Tipton, Stu, and Kyle, but also another Trinity friend, Clayton Ray. The new project includes a new name and syle. That Mighty City was decided on among the guys, and a strictly original writing band was also decided on. With influences from My Morning Jacket, The White Stripes, and The Black Keys their music will appeal to almost anyone. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. ......................
