My father was an atheist and my mother was non-practicing, so, growing up, it was my brother's music collection that was the alter at which we worshiped. The religious figures in our house were people like Robin Zander, Tommy Shaw, David Lee Roth, Mick Jagger, Lennon & McCartney, Paul Stanley, Angus Young, and so on.

I like my television pretty brainless, which lends itself to reality TV. Of all things, American Idol caught my attention this season and I like all the terrible dating shows, Rock of Love, The Bachelor, even going so far as reruns of Elimidate. My staples are Big Love and Real Time with Bill Maher.

I'm usually reading 3-4 books at a time. Bedside, at this moment, you'll find the Yage Letters (Burroughs' search for a mythical drug in South America), Sometimes a Great Notion (Kesey's beautifully written family/political drama set in the Pacific Northwest), and Thoreau's Walden to draw the summer to a close.

О себе: I'm a magazine editor and PR exec. for an advertising agency. My time is pretty much divided among professional commitments (i.e. work), dating and my kids. Since I was in elementary school, I've had people encouraging me to write and when I found it could be an outlet and a spiritual process, I pretty much turned myself over to it. I like to observe and experience people and the world so I can try to capture some of their beauty. In some ways, you have to lead an exciting life to be receptive to it all.
